What attracted me to becoming a caregiver is coming from a huge family I am 1/6 kids and the second oldest so my sister and I were always helping our mom with the little ones. I've watched my mom raise 6 kids on her own beautifully and that inspires me. I have really good traits that make me a great caregiver, knowing that what I do helps people just makes me feel so fulfilled like I'm actually doing something good in this world.

Why I became a caregiver is because I like helping people I think that's the best job u can have . I had a grandma who I heloped take care of In the last years of her life she had dementia ,parksisons disease, and many other health issues . That definitely made me want to help other individuals and other families through things like that. What I enjoy most with being a caregiver is helping people and making a difference in someone's life and getting to know that person and help out . I'm a very kind and caring person . My work history is very diverse. I worked for the court system for many years. I was also employed by the Iowa Department of Revenue & Finance. I have worked for Iowa Child Support Recovery Unit. I have been employed as an office assistant as well as a legal assistant. I worked for a Harley Davidson dealership in sales and moved into a lead office position. I have many years experience in caregiving. I've worked for Senior Helpers as well as Home Instead Senior Care. I attended St. Ambrose University, which is a Christian based university, and graduated with honors. I love to travel, spend time with family and friends, snorkel, ride bicycles horsebackriding, and enjoy walking and listening to all genres of music. I have 5 grandchildren that I adore and spend time with. Most importantly, I love being a caregiver. I guarantee I will treat your family as I would my own. I feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day because I feel I am doing my best to make this a better world by helping others.

I am a very loving and people person . I decided to become a caregiver when I started working at a care center in Hiawatha Iowa as a Dietary Aide . I decided that I wanted to work with the residents instead of serving them . I found a job shortly as being a resident aide at Mayvil assistive living , I didn't have to be certified. I then began to wonder what was the difference in being certified or not ... I started to look into classes to become a certified nurse assistant, I was determined to get my certification. So I took off a month of work to go to school . Believer it or not I loved it , when I finnished school I got at westridge care center , I loved my residents but I decided to return home to my hometown. I would like to get into some home health care ! I enjoy waking up everyday and being the first person my resident interacts with for the day , I smile definitely starts the day off . I also love to be able to tuck my residents in at night !

I moved to Iowa in 1991 and I always wanted to help people my mom told me about being a nurses aide so I applied took my cna training and like 5 years later i took my medication course and i also took classes to do rehab, im the type of person that tries my best to help my patient be happy and well taken care of. i worked 27 years in a nursing home, Im no longer there.I would love to do in home health care. Im proud i stayed at my one and only job in my life and im proud i was loved by my residents and their families thats the best feeling when your appreciated for great care of the patient

I've been in healthcare since I've been 18 yrs old. I come from a large farm family and have grown up caring for one another. We enjoyed caring for our grandparents and I always enjoyed listening and learning as much as I could from them. I enjoy seeing the smile on my clients faces, knowing I helped put it there. They make me smile and so happy as well!
