I am a healthy, active, strong 47 year old woman. I have worked in an assisged living facility, a hospital, and a rehab facility. I have also done a lot of private duty. My longest assignment was caring for a quadriplegic man. I have raised three daughters, so I understand children as well.

I've been a Certified Life & Wellness coach since 1996. After moving to Maine, I opened my private practice in Yarmouth. And started volunteering at ME Handicapped Skiing (now ME Adaptive Sports & Recreation), & with disabled veterans. For reasons beyond my personal control, I had to close my private practice. So I decided to use my skills serving others in a different capacity, this time focusing on the elderly population in Maine as well as Hospice service. I started as a caregiver with 3 different agencies in the Portland area. After 2 yrs, I 'down-sized' to two agencies in order to get certified as a CRMA. Quite often I am asked to start the service with a new client. Several times family members of a 24X7 client requested for me to be the primary caregiver and to coordinate the day to day client needs. In fact, it was commented that "when Maria is out, things really don't go well. As soon as she's back, everything flows so smoothly." My biggest personal achievement was to be selected "VNA's caregiver of the Year 2016". Ive becobecextended famiky to my elderly clients and hospice patients, as they have become to me. I'm honored & feel priviledged to serve my clients/patients at end of life as well as providing respite for family members and guiding them throughout the weeks/days before & after losing a loved one. My life's journey has taken me all over the world. I speak numerous languages, have lived on several continents, learned skiing at 47, ballroom dance competitor at 49, certified diver at 52., and now plan to get my private pilot's license by my 70th Birthday. Having supported my husband and only son during their cancer journeys, I learned that we cannot take anything for granted in life. We must find our own way of living life to the fullest each and every moment. I'm grateful for all the people who have touched my life. Each and every one has been a gift to me as I have been a gift to them. I hope to touch many more lives.

I have been in elderly care for 18yrs. From facilities to home care to private care. I am also a hospice trained. I love getting to know my consumers and who they were and are now.

New CNA!! I have always wanted to pursue my future in the medical field. I love what I do, it is such a rewarding job! Home care provides more personal and comforting care. Until and during I go to college my plan was to do home care!

First and foremost I'm a mommy to a beautiful little girl. I am patient, compassionate and I listen to each individual need. There is something special about being able to care for someone else's loved ones, I feel privileged to have the opportunity to provide a service that others cannot. I have ample experience working in a whole range of scenarios from 1:1 in home to facility. I have the proper training to care for those with physical and memory care issues. This is my calling, it's what I love to do.

I have always had a compassionate and caring personality, even in my group of close friends, I was known as the "Mom" figure. I always strive to do my best to make sure others are happy and healthy and care for others. I find great joy and fulfillment in seeing others happy and assisting in any way I can. My ultimate goals are to get back into Childcare as I finish my BA in Early Childhood Education and hopefully open up my own preschool some day. Hello! I have been a caregiver for most of my life, and my career. I am a caregiver at heart and find that the most important thing in life is to be kind, work hard and take care of those placed in your path. I have been caring for the aged and those with dementia for over 25 years. In my past, I had a residential care home and an Adult Day Center and they were the best 15 years of my life! Caregiving allows one to be part of something bigger than yourself. Giving of yourself, whether it is a helping hand, assisting someone to do something they can no longer do by themselves, and providing care at a level of compassion and patience that one would expect if the shoe was on the other foot. To me, it's about what you leave behind - touch someone's life for the better.

I have a disabled younger brother and was raised by my grandmother. I have always wanted to help others and have always been in a situation that I was able too and I don't see myself doing anything else but this for work. I have worked in a private facility with my amazing work partner with the same experience if not more- we are both looking for a one on one that requires a two person assist as we live together and commute together we will not disappoint with our knowledge and professionalism, as we are both asking for an hourly rate I hope you will take into consideration that two is better than one when it comes to taking care of your loved ones so every little detail can be monitored with fresh eyes and extra hands. :)
