I have worked with adults with varied levels of physical, cognitive and emotional abilities for over 25 years . I hold a B.S. in Social Science, certificates in Gerontology and Recreation Therapy. I have a current adult, pediatric and infant first aid and CPR certificate, a food handlers certificate and flu shot. I am responsible, observant, personable, creative, communicate effectively, am an excellent listener, enjoy evoking laughter. I value independence and dignity while having fun. I specialize in dementia. I have been a medical assistant, case manager, companion, recreation therapist and assessor. I love being a Caregiver ! I worked in corporate America selling HP and IBM Computers for twenty plus years until my dear father suffered a heart attack. A few days later, I left my job to help my mom care for him. Shortly after he died, my beloved mom suffered a massive stroke and I cared for her for 9 years until her passing 3 years ago. I realized shortly after she passed that care giving was what I wanted to do as career. Currently, I love working alongside my clients, helping them accomplish their goals and having them feel a sense of happiness !

I love doing that so much I have that I got my CNA certificate and and my EMT. Now I am going to school to get my RN because I want to make it a career of taking care of loved ones doesn't matter the age. I was turning 18 and I was told I needed to work that my schooling was over....Immediately I started searching for a job that gave me flexibility and helped others....so I was a first female Chicago Firefighter....I then moved back to Calif. and put myself through school to become a nurse....I did 10 years in the emergency room, then home health, hospice, pediatrics special needs, elderly. I like to think fast on my feet and I became pretty good at nursing....I gain respect from the doctors that I have worked with for my ability to describe the need a patient has even if it's immediate......I am a cheerful, responsible, giving individual that would help thoses who ask..

I became a caregiver because my aunt was diagnosed with a brain disease. At a young age I began taking care of her. I made her meals, helped bathe her and made sure she took her medication. Once I hit my teenage years my great grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Dementia. It was me responsibility to take care of her after school until bed time. This is when I truly fell in love with care taking. My dad then graduated from college and became an Executive Director or retirement communities. My family used to visit him and work. The communities he has worked for have had an incredible impact on myself. In my early 20's I worked in an assisted living community and took care of a quadriplegic man. My passion only grew as the years weld went on. I truly have a passion for caretaking and getting to know people.
