Hi! My name is Kayla. For me being a caregiver is more than just a job. I love what I do! Helping others is something I have always been passionate about and I genuinely enjoy spending time with my clients and getting to know them.

I was born to a very large family,15 children to be exact,we were taught to care for one another,and when I was 13 years old,my grandmother came to live with us, because she could no longer safely care for herself and her home,,my mother,my sister and myself,done all the things you would do for an infant and cared for her until her death,I believe in doing so,I learned compassion and the skill of helping people, when the time or circumstance,comes that a person can no longer do life on there own,and I just love people,I wish more people had the heart to serve others.

I am a great caregiver because I first learned how to be one by helping my parents and my brother. They had certain disabilities, both physical and mental/psychological, that touched my heart and helped me realize the importance of quality of life to everyone, not just to those who are healthy. Then, I achieved 89 credits towards my BSN (bachelors degree in nursing) and graduated with honors in Surgical Technolgy from Tennessee Technology Center, First Aid at MTSU, and am a licensed CNA and am CPR/BLS certified, and have a Leadership Award from St. Thomas Hospital. I currently work at a hospital as a CNA/PCA and am looking to work part-time to possibly full-time for someone who has the need for home health and/or caregiver needs. I have excellent references and take my work seriously!

I have 20 plus years of experience I started being a caregiver for my grandparents in 1996 but I went back to school to get my certification in 2000 my mom became a hospice patient in 2005 so I went back to school for my medical assistant so I can know more about her medicines so with all that being said my grandmother is the reason I became a caregiver she told me I was a great caring person and yes I have been all my life so I'm a loving & caring person and I love helping people and I treat people the way I wanna be treated I love listening to elderly people about the past and I've learned a lot from elderly people and the most of my achievement that I'm proud of is having my dream job that I always talk with my grandmother about and that's being a great caregiver with my CNA & medical assistant certifications

My mother raised three children alone,pretty much.I was the oldest and cared for my two brothers,chores etc. while my mother worked.My youngest brother was born with bone dease in legs,hips,he had to have several hip replacements etc. I took care of him and a couple more family members as time went by.I just honestly think that a caregiver is who I am.I first started in 1989 in a Nursing Home worked there couple year's.Then I worked at the hospital and I have now done 6 years of private duty,homehealth .I have always been some what parcel to Elderly.

I have 2 children ages 24 and 18 both are working and great with responsibilities. My husband passed in 2016 so I enjoy taking care of people and staying busy.
