Hello! My name is Belinda and I am very friendly, compassionate and engaging. I work very hard and enjoy helping others. I will proudly say that I'm a patient gentleman and Patience is a great way to derive success in many aspects of life. Having in mind that caregiving can be challenging sometimes, I derived success in caregiving by exercising patients and kindness towards my clients. I started caregiving by taking care of my own mother, when I saw how happy she feels by having me around, I felt blessed doing it and when she passed, I extended the same compassion to others. I really enjoy it when I notice that I have made a positive impact on the life of my client; I can remember being called God sent by the wife of one of my clients; the gentleman returned home after spending months at the hospital and rehab, he lost his ability to walk and speak. after I was called in as a caregiver, he regained his mobility and speech because we had to engage with him not just as a client but as a loved one...

The skills and experience I have as a caregiver makes me do my job with confidence. I like helping people in need and that made me have the interest of being a caregiver. I enjoy when I see my clients trust me and feels safe. Clients activities of daily living and achieving their goals. I am happy of what I do to help people in need to live happily in their homes or facility.

Being a caregiver is not for everyone but I can say this is my calling. In the 15 years I have gained so much experience and met so many wonderful families. I am a caregiver because it gives me joy to be able to assist someone when they need my help the most. I am smart, a quick thinker, fast learner, trust worthy, reliable , dependable and friendly. I have been a CNA/caregiver for over 20 years now. I became a CNA because I have a passion to make a difference in people's lives. I started caring for friends and family and realized that I loved helping people. I am an honest, kind, caring caregiver that loves doing what I do. I love seeing the people I care for happy and knowing that I made a difference for them.

Some residents at the Assisted Living Community call me Christmas, saying it's close to Carol , my nickname. They said it fits my personality. Willing to give love (as the song goes... on Christmas Day!), happy, funny, full of joy! I have been taking care of my Father who suffered from stroke for 10 years back in the Philippines, being one of his caregivers. I was also his Physical Therapist. We moved here in the US 5 years ago, and I have worked as a caregiver , then transitioned to work in the Med Room as a Medication Technician at Maple Glen Assisted Living in Shelton, WA. I consider it a calling given the opportunity to work there. I am a people person and loves taking care of elderly. I treat them as family and I enjoy listening to their stories, and attending to their needs. Having a Physical Therapy background, and with experience in home health, clinical, and hospital settings, I could offer different types of assistance based on the needs. I consider my time at Maple Glen as one of my career achievements. I love all of the residents and I became The Employee of the Month in less than a year. Being a caregiver is a calling for me. I am proud to be one and I enjoy doing it! It is not an easy job but coming from a Filipino family surrounded by big hearted love ones, I carry it wherever I go, and I live up to the values my parents had taught me, which I am passing on to my daughter and son.

I'm a mother of two and a daughter. My mom lives with me. I'm a military spouse. I'm very compassionate, understanding and have big heart for elderly. I grew up with my grandparents since my father passed before I knew him. And my grandparents passed before I can give them the care they need. For that reason alone give me motivation to give the love for my grandparents that they never had from me to passed it on to other elderly people. I always treat them as my own grandparents. I have my CPR and BLS. I have food handling permit. I have my NAR and working to my CNA next month. Taking some of my pre-requisite to my Nursing degree.

I'm a very good person I love to help people and also make people smile I'm very intelligent and very open minded and I love being a caregiver because I build so much relationships with my client and always love to help and provide whatever to take care of the client.
