Hello My name is Martha i live in Sacramento CA for about 36years moved to Davis CA to attend a better school.In my senior year i volunteered to work at this facilty working with the elderly AND I TRULY ENJOYED IT from that day in 95' i knew what i wanted to do.I started medical school in 97' but...found out i was pregnant i had put to put my dreams on hold.In 99' i started working at State Franchise Tax Board for 3yrs then my day my Co-worker asked'hey do you really enjoy working here i stated NO but i need to provide for my family from that day on i told myself 'do something you like to do! I can say i separted myself and found a job working with the elderly in 04' from then just worked as a caregiver for YEARS my daughter a teenager now so i decided to go back school and get my RN license and here i am! Two years later my Father passed away and I lost my job and began caring for my Mother. At that point I decided to go to school and become certified. Received my CNA in 2013. I have over ten years of experience in caregiving, I'm also a registered RBT I hold my CPR and first aide license. I'm also fully vaccinated and I have a lot of skills in the medical field.

I'm a great caregiver because I love my job and helping people. I was attracted to being a caretaker after taking care of my mother for ten years who had cancer. My favorite part of my job is being a companion. I have often felt like a family member to my clients. A personal achievement that I am always proud of is when my client improves because of my positive attitude and the exercises we do or day trips. I also make an excellent cup of tea.

Since I was a young child I was raised around my elderly family and I loved to help them walk or just do fun things with them. I babysat at the age 9, I just always had that trait in me to take care of others. I took care of my aunt at the age of 17 I had never had training to do any kind of caregiving work but I learned as I went along. For 9 months I cooked for her, I cleaned her wound, drained the bags that were in her incisions, med reminded, bathed her in bed, washed her hair in bed, I changed her in her bed, cut her diabetic toenails and assisted her to and from dr appointments. My aunt suffered from hepatitis C and diabetes. That's how my journey of becoming a caregiver began. I went and took a home health aide class at Castro Valley adult school and got hired at my first company. ComForCare Senior Services in Castro Valley ca. I took break for 7yrs to be a stay at home mommy in 2012 and now I'm ready to get back to work and doing what I love and that's helping others who are in need of help.
