I've been in the service for 27 years now. I have a child with disability, and I learned a lot from him in regard to assisting and helping him. That motivates me helping the elderly people. I also like gardening and outdoor recreations.

I have been in the medical field since 1999. I have worked in Homecare, Rehab, Hospital and Office settings. I have specialized in Memory Care, Rehabilitation, Spinal cord injuries and Early Childhood Education. I especially enjoy Homecare settings where I can delivery optimal and comfortable care, companionship and assistance to those whom require/ desire these services. Along with my HHA certification, previous CNA license/ experience I have current BLS, and Drivers License and dependable transportation. I believe everyone has a right to high quality care, and it brings me great joy to provide it.

The main reason I became a caregiver was to help my father while he was sick with cancer. I wanted to be there for him during his last days of life. I like the fact that I am helping someone feel better and get through rough times. My personal achievement in my life was to make my father proud and succeed in my career. I am an honest down to earth person, I take pride in everything that I do and I also stand behind everything that I say. I enjoy helping others especially those who can't help themselves. I became a caregiver after my brother died in the hospital. He was severely beaten and succumbed to his injuries. After being with him for three weeks in the hospital I decided that this is what I wanted to do. I started taking a management course this year at The University of Denver. Hello my name is Maria I am bilingual fluent in Spanish and English. My mother inspired me to be a caregiver, she lost her eyesight due to diabetes and other health problems leaving me in charge of her health care for 12 years which included meal prepping a very restrictive diet, day to day chores, medication reminders, doctor appointments etc. Being a patient and caring person helped my mother when she was down. Years later I had the privilege to do patient care at a liposuction center where I realized that helping people is my calling and what I love to do.
