My name is Lisa. I'm an LPN. I have 7 years of experience working as a group home manager. I'm friendly, compassionate, organized, and outgoing. I enjoy caring for people and going out of my way to help others in need. I'm flexible with my work schedule and willing to travel if needed.

I treat each client like family members with communication and a understanding approach my goal is to help provide the best care I can and to keep my clients informed of what is being done it helps them yo understand and prepare;ie(instead of lifting them up in the bed with quickness I tell them so that they know what is going on.) I became a caregiver by caring for my dieying step father they a few years later I did the same for my mother soon afterwards I started doing free lance caregiving I meet a woman who's aunt had ALS after she passed I was introduced to the woman's niece to her friend who's mother in law needed home care and therapy help as she was in early stages of dementia I cared for her For a few years until her family decided she needed assisted living in a nursing home because of her declining state. At the present I have been caring for a bed bound gentleman who is in a declining state. What I enjoy most is helping care and talking with them sharing there personal stories about there lives and adventures I also enjoy there company being a caregiver is not just coming in and caring for there personal needs and leaving it's also about conversing with them sharing things making them laugh or telling them stories that I have seen or done . My achievement that I am most proud of is helping two of my clients to become strong enough to move better through therapy one elderly client had a broken hip with time and a lot of strength exercises she was able to take a walk with a walker again and the gentleman I cared for his leg had no strength in it now he's able to move it not a lot but it got to the point he is gaining muscle back in it.

I'm bilingual nurse aide experience with clinic skills, knowledgeable that I learned through my education and on the job settings. The most important is Communication, Empathy, Respect, Patient is one of my trait, compassion and Kindness. Love helping people, listening, giving full attention. In my time as a caregiver, I have had many proud and rewarding moments with the patients, family' patients.

I became a Caregiver because I needed the certification for another job that I thought I would be well suited for. I thought I would fair out well as a Lab Tech for one of the local mental hospitals. Not long after I'd graduated from the CNA program and had begun working as a Lab Tech in the hospital clinic, I discovered the hospital was due to close in less than a year ; there were no openings at any of the sister branches. I took a job with a visiting nurse agency as a Phlebotomist / CNA. Although they had more CNA work than Phlebotomy, I needed a job and lacked experience. The job also offered a year long course in disease management coaching and had good benefits. As time passed, I began to work in other areas of caregiving to see what my specialty might be and decided I liked working with seniors; they seemed to have tons of life experience and didn't mind sharing it ( I often found myself wondering if should've been paying them for all they taught me - important things about life I never even thought of !), They seemed to really appreciate anything I did for them. I find the intrinsic value of serving the elders rewarding. Since discovering what my passion is, I've done nothing else.

I've worked in a rehabilitation facility for almost 7 years. Between long term care, memory care, and sub-acute rehab i've seen it all. Growing up with older parents made me really want to take care of people without a voice the best way possible.
