A little over 10 years ago I got a call from my aunt while at work that my mom had almost fallen from a step ladder at my house. She was by herself and we had just lost my dad to his battle with cancer a few months prior so it was on that day that I quit my job as an event planner to stay home and care for my elderly mother.
