Since 2009 I have been a in home care aide, CNA at several nursing homes and a PCA in the hospital where I drew blood and did daily care for patients. So for over 10 years I've seen and took care of many Elderly people and it is always been a great passion of mine to take care of people who need help being took care of. What makes me a great caregiver is that I'm reliable, flexible, and compassion. I love what I do so without these 3 traits I wouldn't be the great caregiver that I am today. What attracted me to being a caregiver was watching my mom take care of my grandmother. That inspired me to join this field because of the passion my mom had to get up every day to take care of someone she loved. What I enjoy the most is being able to help people who need the help or someone who just want a companion because sometimes us caregivers is the only people that they see and they be happy with that. Hello I'm shalonna watts 31 yrs old, currently in buffalo Ny. I have been a caregiver for over 7 yrs. It started with my grandfather, He retired and next thing his health started declining. I cared for him because I didn't like how he was being treated in nursing homes. I just couldn't stand to see the way he was so I knew others wasn't exempt to the same type of treatment. So that's what inspired me to start being a care giver, I've had several cases over the years, some longer than others, different type of issues. However I always provide excellent care to my patients, I try and make them as comfortable in the situation. I listen to there needs and make sure that they know I'm here for them whenever they need me. I'm proud of the mother and person I have become, I've had some tough times in life but I've overcome everything that was holding me back. I've just recently received my Cna license and bls/cpr license.
