As a young child I had a heart for babies and the elderly. At five years old I was so proud to walk my 80 year old grandfather around our neighborhood. Some people are takers and some are givers. I'm so thankful for the opportunity of caring for my mother after she was diagnosed with lung cancer. I moved into her home, with my then 3 month old baby, to make sure my mom felt loved and cared for. I felt it was my way of honoring my mother and showing respect for all the years she cared for her children. Most people do not get to experience being with a parent when their life is over and I will always consider it an honor.
