I never intended to become a caregiver. I fell into the position through a friend's connection and discovered that I absolutely love it (and I am amazing at it!) I am a trained and skilled healthcare provider with a background in biomechanics and rehabilitation. I have reliable transportation, am intelligent and good at managing schedules and appointments, and I have a cheerful, fun personality. I am responsible, reliable and mature. As a caregiver, I have found it incredibly rewarding to insert myself into a home that was struggling just to get by day to day, and help bring order and flow. Watching the progress my patient has made over the past few months is one of the most rewarding experience of my life. When I can see that other's lives are better because of me, it warms my soul. I am proud that I have nearly worked myself out of a job. My current position is with a recovering stroke patient. When I first started working with him, he needed help simply getting from his chair into his wheelchair. Now he is walking unassisted, dressing himself, and toileting alone. I love this family, but my days there are numbered (in a good way!).

I am LPN and I have 20years of experience in ICU with all the equipment required in the hospital. 10 years of experience with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, Parkinson's disease, stroke, accidents, surgeries and all kinds of illnesses and recoveries. I aid them to shower, I prepare meals, light housekeeping, laundry and all they need to get comfortable with and happy. As a highly empathetic and caring individual with extensive experience in the caregiving field, I am confident that I can succeed as a Caregiver for Jojo, I also provided home health care for a rotation of 10 patients per week At Aloha care ( Hawaii ) five days a week. My responsibilities included light housework, giving baths, preparing small snacks, reading to patients, helping them around the house, helping patients use the restroom, providing companionship, keeping track of appointments, and feeding patients. During my young years, I served as a primary caregiver for my grandmother. As a frail woman in her late 80s , she needed a lot of assistance with most day-to-day functions. Since I was there more than my parents, who both worked full-time, I took it upon myself to be her caregiver. The more time I spent with her, the more I realized that although her body may not function, her mind was an ocean of stories and wisdom, waiting to be explored. The Police Academy provided weeks of intensive First Aid & Trauma Response Training. I served 3 years in Patrol as a First Responder for all types of Medical Emergencies, Serious Automobile Accidents, Overdoses & All Criminal Activity. ***I received several commendations while in Patrol and was promoted to Detective after the first 3 years. I was assigned to the Crimes Against Children Division where I conducted dozens of complex investigations involving Child Abuse, Neglect and Crimes of Child Sexual Abuse. ***I also attended & graduated from Weber State University with a Bachelor's Degree Political Science and Social Sciences. ***I was the founding partner of Thurgood Development Company. I underwent significant additional training and have several Utah State mandated Certifications in First Aid, Elder Care etc. ***After 4 months with the Leading In-Home Senior Care firm I was chosen as their CARE-GIVER OF THE YEAR. I am assigned as Exclusive Care Giver for 3 of their VIP's, whose names are household words in all of Utah. ***I have many references from persons who I have cared for and dozens from Seniors that I have built homes for over the past many years.
