Hello! My name is Elaine and I'm a great caregiver because, after looking after my father who had Alzheimer's for four years, I have the kind of experience and genuine compassion for seniors that I would want if I were looking for a caregiver. I have completed my CNA training, and am CPR certified. I've also completed several certificate courses in Safety, Memory Care, etc.. Safety is my number one priority. I'm all about fall prevention and have developed techniques to keep my clients as mobile and self-sufficient as possible while keeping them safe at the same time. For me, looking after elders is a privilege. I think that in this sometimes youth-obsessed culture, we can forget how much we all owe to the Greatest Generation. I love to talk to my clients about their experiences, their children, the music they loved, and anything else that brings a smile to their faces! From my father I learned about the music and culture of the 30's, 40's and 50's, and I love it when my clients sing their favorite songs or talk about what movies they liked from those days. Nursing is a calling for me. Making sure that people receive the best possible care I am able to provide is my most important goal. I have always been close to my elderly family as a young child .As I got older I would volunteer with my friends family to help them and I took care of my Uncle Rudy after his stroke .This is when I New my next calling after his passing was to continue to help the Senior in my community as I have now for HISC for going on 5 yrs.I am very compassionate and they come first,Family's have asked for me by name after having me once they ask for me to be their care giver. Being a good care partner has always been my goal in a career. I have achieved that goal and now want to share that knowledge and skill with other caregivers' weather they are at home or in a facility. I still give care and enjoy it, but I offer specialized training to the family and other caregivers at the same time to ensure the best care for the person suffering from dementia. I would have to say I'm friendly, show respect to clients, I care a smile all the time. I am a caregiver by heart. Watching the joy I give working with clients. My most achievement was when I worked with a young lady with Autism for many years sometime ago. I taught her how to do a few things that I thought would be good for her to know how to do on her own.

I have worked as a CNA and facility and also private in-home care. I have been doing this type of work for about five years. I recently also became a certified Emergency medical responder.
