A little about me, I never planned on caregiving, I didn't think much of it. I applied to a serving position at a facility because I enjoy personal interaction and relationship development with elder men and women. In my interview I showed them that I have great motivation and have a very caring personality. When I started to work as a caregiver I started to realize how deprived this field was for actual caring workers. It's very important to connect with your client so you have their full trust and can make sure they are being treated and cared for properly. My favorite part of the job were my clients, I made wonderful friends and got to hear amazing historical life stories. Sometimes you will come across difficult clients, but it's an amazing feeling to break through their wall and really connect with them, to be able to help them as much as you possibly can. I am proud of all the residents I was able to assist and the relationships we built.

After medical assistance, I learned so much about elders when I worked at living home and they need so much care and patients . I decided to work private to give full attention to one client. I treat everyone equal and care for them like a family. I love what I do.

Over the last 12 years I have gained, so much knowledge in life and in the caregiving world. I am task oriented and like to keep things tidy. I care for the health of my clients and will question when I feel something is off. I love hearing the stories of the lives of my client see their pictures and ask for their beloved memories. I am a mother and stepmother to five great kids in ages ranging 20-6. I first became a caregiver in my very early 20's and fell in love with giving real care. Not the kind of care you see in facilities, the honest to goodness care you would give your own Nana. I personally strive to never let my clients feel unloved or made to feel less than human. I want my clients to feel dignified and bright every time I leave!

I have been a licensed nurse for the past 13 years. I am currently licensed in WI and I am working on getting my license here in Oregon. Unfortunately this is going to take a little bit longer than I was hoping it would. I have not worked as a nurse since 2014. I took some time off to work with my husband as a over the road truck driver. I am longing to get back into nursing. I am a kind, loving and caring person. I have always worked geriatrics and miss working with the elderly.

I become a caregiver 4months out of high school. My antuie need someone to help her. So I moved down to help her. The person I started to care for was my old babysitter. I was like wow this is amazing. I fall in love with being a caregiver. I love to see my client smile and feel good for the day. I have put my heart and soul in my job. People use to say that I'm work so much. But that's how I am. I don't give up. I will get it done one way anther. I will try everything I know to get it done.

Hello, my name is Cherokee I'm 25 years old and love my job. I got my start under my mothers company at 15 as a house keeper for the elderly. One of my favorite things about the cleaning job was getting to meet seniors in my community, because I love all the story's and history they have to share. When I graduated from Cottage Grove High I had a plain to get into heath care, so that's what I did. Not just for seniors but also people with disability's, and I will tell you what I love what I do, and do what I love. I'm good at my job and don't believe in doing anything half way. I pay attention to small details and whole picture too. I'm fun loving and always have a smile on my face and a light in my eyes. I'm a non smoker (don't mind if clients smoke), with a clean background and driving history plus reliable transportation. I'm LGBT friendly and love people.
