I've been a caregiver for more than 30 years. I care about people and I feel like God has given me a gift. I love to talk so I pretty much can get a patient to try must things that a family member can't get them to to to. I love to read and interact with them if it's just a game cards.

Hello, my name is Crystal Vinson. I have been working as a caregiver for about 18 years and I still love what I do. Being a caregiver is not only a pleasure, but it is heartwarming to know that I can be a part of someone's life and make a difference. Growing up I was a little girl who loved being by my grandma's size, whether she was sick or well.She was my pride and joy and I was hers'. After she passed away I knew I wanted to continue making elderly people happy and enjoy life. I am a firm believer that life gets better with time.

Well what I will enjoy about working as a caregiver is getting to know the person and learning how to assist with with everyday tasks Also being there to listen and giving them time for conversation and social needs.

I am an upbeat and positive individual who believes that each day is the best day ever! I became a caregiver when my husband, mother and father all became ill and needed care. Their care ranged from physical needs, to needs due to dementia. I wanted to be the one there with them to care for them. However, when I couldn't be there with them full time, as I needed to work, I was blessed to have found the most wonderful caregiver in the world to care for them. She treated my loved ones as family, and cared for them with love, compassion and dignity. It is now my privilege to be able to share that gift with other families that I care for. I enjoy the companionship and helping those who are in their most vulnerable state., and caring for them with dignity and compassion. A personal achievement that I am proud of is graduating from college with a degree in Psychology at the age of 47!

As a caregiver i enjoy listening to the clients life story and trying to relate to things that they have experienced in the past. They pass on their wisedom and experience of life to us as caregiver. And being able to make your client feel like they are still important is just an amazing experience. To see them excited when you walk in always makes me smile.

After caring for my fiance's bed bound Uncle for 2 years back in 2013, I found myself going to night school to get into the Medical Field, so I could do more for patients like him. The entire time I was putting myself through night school, I took care of a few other disabled elderly neighbors. While working at NCMC hospital, and then a Gastroenterologist office, I did not feel I was where God wanted me. After speaking with the doctor I was working for ( and his wife ), they pointed me in a direction to help hospice clients. I finally felt I was where God wanted me. In December of 2019, after my sister passed away from cancer, my Mom called and asked me to come home. She said she needed me to help her during her surgeries. I didn't hesitate. I sold my house and moved up here to Fayetteville to help my brother with our Mom. 6 months later she passed, and I found myself right back in Home Health Care. I have always gone where I was needed and wanted. The appreciation the clients show me, just from the way their eyes smile at me, that pulls me right back to where I feel I belong. My apologies for not being available on the weekends. I was blessed with becoming a grandmother, shortly after my Mom passed, so my weekends are pretty much taken up by my precious Grandson. Monday - Friday, if I am open, I would love to step in and help. Remember, no matter where you are in this walk of life, God has a plan for each and everyone of us. I became a caregiver because my grandfather was ill when I was young I had to learn to assist with him I love to help people I started out as a CNA and then a med aid and now I am currently trying to get into RN program I am striving to be the best so that I can always be there to help people
