Hi I am an very experienced compassionate caregiver I am not certified but I do have 15+ years experience. I am originally from Illinois been in Texas for 9 years. I am looking forward to becoming a nurse and I love what I do. I have been working in Alzheimer's for the last 9 years. I have a beautiful family that's why I prefer to work overnight shift but willing to work day shift (9am-3pm) to be more specific. I'm a very dependable hard worker with patience. One of my favorite experiences being a caregiver are the families that I meet and become close with. They become family to me too. I took care of my husband who passed after 19 years of cancer, my grandparents , who both suffered from Alzheimer's. Spent numerous years working in a rest home & for private clients in their home. 7 years ago I started out by being a caregiver for my grandmother. She had a stroke and needed help getting around the house. Since then I've been working with others to help make their living easy. I've worked with people who have dementia. I enjoy helping others out . Especially to the ones who really need it. I worked at a memory care and assisting living facility for 6 years. I'm certified by the State of Texas as a CNA; I completed a 8-week training course at Houston Community College. I did a month of clinical at Treemont Assisted Living facility located in Houston, Texas. My duties were feeding, bathing, dress, and assist with mobility. In terms of your job requirements, I can cook, clean, and do laundry, lift, carry and transport items up to 30lbs. I've had the opportunity to work at Texana for 2 1/2 years as a House Parent during those exact duties. Due to me taking care of my husband my certification expired didn't get a chance to finish renewing it. I'd love the opportunity to sit down with you and discuss it in person.
