40,000 hours of respite care for our hidden heroes
CareLinx is partnering with the Elizabeth Dole Foundation and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to launch a new program to provide respite relief to thousands of military and veteran family caregivers across the country.
COVID-19 has upended the normal support that veteran family caregivers depend on to maintain their mental and physical well-being. CareLinx will provide more than 40,000 hours of non-medical home care for more than 1,600 veteran caregivers and their wounded warriors.

What veteran family caregivers need most right now is a break. Your corporate gift will provide invaluable respite caregiving support to veteran family caregivers during one of the most challenging seasons facing our country.
The challenges of being a veteran family caregiver
Millions of brave spouses, parents, siblings have stepped up when needed to lovingly care for our nation’s wounded, ill and disabled veterans and service members. These hidden heroes spend on average 20-30 hours a week providing intense caregiving responsibilities, while juggling other demands, like child rearing, careers, and relationships. These dedicated family veteran caregivers are tired, stressed, and with little to no time left to care for themselves, they are highly susceptible to burnout.
Respite care offers relief and builds resiliency
Respite care is caregiving support that offers the primary caregiver a short-term break to care for themselves. The COVID-19 pandemic has eliminated the back up caregiving support that families typically rely on. Our Respite Relief program will provide this much needed break to allow family caregivers to carve out time to care for themselves, reduce stress and feelings of social isolation while fostering caregiver resiliency.
