I am a certified nursing assistant, geriatric nursing assistant, and soon to be nurse. I have four years of experience working as a caregiver including live-ins. By providing my clients with love, daily companionship and assistance, I make it my goal to assure my clients that they matter and still have a purpose. Most important is forming a bond with my client and the family. I embody liveliness and positivity so my clients aren't just living day to day. I help them feel alive. I like to share laughs and memories while helping with the daily activities; bathing, getting dressed, vitals, meal preparation and extracurricular activities. Hello, my name is Sabrina Wilson and I am a great caregiver because I enjoy helping others and getting tasks completed with efficiency and ease. I spent 5 years taking care of my grandmother and keeping her comfortable before she passed as well as ten years of taking care of my mother before she passed in 2013. When I commit to taking care of someone I leave my ego behind, and bring my heart and soul. I am a graduate with my AA degree --I studied Cultural Anthropology with an interest in Sociology. In 2013 I lived/ traveled in Germany and stayed in other various European cities -- it is one of my biggest accomplishments, I would love to tell you more about it!

I believe that I have a lot to offer, I have raised five children and have had the opportunity to care for other children in the childcare profession. I have been blessed to care of foster children as well. Years ago I was able to take classes in Geriatrics and it gave me a better understanding of the aging process, along with being able to better care for my parents, which have no passed. I really enjoy being a caregiver and treat my clients with respect as if they were my own family.

I have taken care of my mother that was very ill; as well as, a neighbor whom had cancer in the past years. I would love a career change and would like to help others in their time of need. Greetings! I became a Caregiver because of my extensive experience with my family who have diabetes, dementia, lupus and parkingson's disease. I believe that every person needs help at one time or another. As I learned from personal experience, quality and compassionate caregivers are hard to find. I was the sole caregiver to my partner for many years as she lived with multiple cancers. Living with cancer or post surgery or dementia can be difficult for the individual and family. I come from a place of care and compassion that empowers the person to live, love and laugh through the not so good times. Life is a gift and an opportunity to be in service with love and compassion.

I'm a great listener, conversationalist, and cook. I've always had a great relationship with my elders, being raised by my Grandma and Grandpa as a kid- they were my "real" parents, as they took more responsibility than my own. I have worked in elder care previously with a large community in Seattle and it was one of the most rewarding jobs ever. I really miss some of my friends I made working there. My cooking skills are legendary and I can whip up any kind of cuisine from comfort food to exotic faire! I am a licensed C.N.A. and have 29 years of caregiving experience which started in when I took care of my mother til she passed away in 2008. From then on, my passion in caregiving became my professional career. I took care of dementia patients, patients with physical disabilities, patients with mental disabilities and children. I am an artists with a lot of passions in life. I enjoy hiking, ballroom and salsa dancing, skiing, fishing, gardening, nature, games, music, photography, plays and musicals. I am getting close to my BA in fine arts. I really enjoyed Cultural Anthropology, Philosophy, Ethics, Biology, in fact I love College. I love all animals! After breast cancer and other life hardships, I have realized the important things in life are about people, relationships and love. I understand how it feels to feel helpless and to need help, how it feels to live in fear, depression, and letting go. My own personal experience gives me a unique perspective for understanding those who are experiencing loss in one form or another. It has increased my level of compassion and empathy. Because of this I have done well as a caregiver. With each new person I look for what helps make them feel safe and secure along with what they look forward each day. The last 2 years of my grandmothers life she was on oxygen full time. At one point in time our family was almost forced to put her in a nursing home because everybody was busy with work so I stepped up to the plate. Soon after I started assisting her with wound care, showering, food prep, and medication managment. When she passed away I was determined to make a difference in a seniors life. So I am now a certfied Home Health Aide.

I have been a caregiver at an early age. My parents were dealing with illnesses when I was in elementary schooI. I learned about doctor visits, medication, proper dietary needs and how people need compassion in coping with changes in life brought about by illness or just aging. My dad use to call me "a regular lil' Florence Nightingale". In my work years I have pursued a very rewarding career in Aircraft Engineering. I have always dedicated myself to helping others. Even as a child i knew i always wanted to help the elders. I have been a caregiver for 10 years and always took care of my clients as if they were my own family

The primary reason I enjoy being a caregiver is being able to help people who cannot care for themselves and knowing that I am adding to their lives and making the difficult time in their life more bearable. My favorite part is being able to help them maintain there life in the privacy of their own home. I have always felt for the people that wasn't able to stay in the home where they spent their lives with their spouse and raised their children and have been independent all of their lives and all of a sudden they are put into a position where they are forced to depend on other people. They are told its not safe for them to live alone or perform the normal daily activities anymore and most of the time these unfortunate people are forced into nursing homes and don't always get the care they deserve so my job is to help this major transition in their lives go smoother and my goal is for the people I'm caring for to still feel worthy, loved, show them support and help them to realize that someone understands what they are going through.

I have cared for my great uncle in his home and loved spending time with him. Hearing his stories about growing up fascinated me and it is something I would like to continue to do. I recently moved out of my hometown to Wilmington on a whim, I did not know anyone here and have made a life for myself here and am very proud of myself for it! I am 24, outgoing and understanding and I enjoy the beach, taking my puppy out for runs or working on my car.

I've raised two beautiful children and I've been happily married going on 25 year's to a wonderful man that brings out the best in me. Along the way I've cared for many family members over the years with various health conditions. After caring for my family I found myself wanted to do more to help others. Over the years I've cared for three beautiful ladies and family members and a few small children.
