I became a caregiver based off my mother. She was a CNA for many years and I had the opportunity to go to work with her alot. And learned and developed the desire to help others. As I was growing up and tested different jobs I realized that helping people was my passion. I like the fact that im helping someone better their day and allowing individuals to gain confidence of daily living. Its a very rewarding position. Im very proud of myself as a mother of two for being brave enough to leave my home state of WV to move to NC just in hopes to give myself and children an advantage of opportunities of life. I left family and friends behind but I couldnt be more happier to see the full potential of my new journey. A little about me Im born and raised in Wv lived in Nc for 2years. I have a 8yr old son. And a 7yr old daughter. Im a very open minded caring person who loves people and life in general. I attend church love to shop and watch lifetime ;) I have a great personality and very easy to get along with. And my long term goal is to become a NURSE! I chose the career of caregiving because as a kid I met this amazing child who I called a brother who has autism. He he had fragile x also. So that started my mind on what I wanted to be, I really want to become an rn so that I can official take care of children like him. But before that I became a care giver at a private agency. I turned out to like it a lot more when I got to work with more than one person. What makes me a great caregiver is that j put my clients first no matter what is going on weather it's a one on one or if it's a 1-3 ratio , my clients Come first. I try to make everyone that I come in contact feel safe feel like they have someone to talk to.

I became a caregiver because I love the experiences that have been told to me. I have grown so much as an individual. I have grown to love to take care of people that are not capable of taking care of themselves. They have such a genuine spirit to them and so full of life, which I have learned to obtain in my every day life. I became a caregiver in 2012 and have continue to do it. I've been working at hospitals and nursing homes as a nurse assistant and doing caregiving for 7 years. I've taken care a wide variety of patients different health and different needs which includes patients with alzheimer, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, cancer, who is paralyze, and amputee. I am reliable, dependable, and punctual. Why I became a nurse/caregiver is i believe my main source of inspiration to become a nurse comes from an innate desire to help people and care for them in times of need. I have experience in taking care of patience with dementia, Alzheimer' s, stroke issues, bed confined patients, etc... I enjoy care-giving because I like making a difference in someone' s life..
