I love not just helping others with their Health Care but I live for it. As a young girl my grandmother would take me to work with her and I would watch in awe how she helped others who could help themselves and nurse them back to health. I didn't know that I would be helping her as a teenager after she suffered a stroke and heart attack. But it was a joy and it was natural. when I am helping others whether a baby to an elder, I always hear her words ringing in my ear, treat people the way you want to be treated. So every Grandmother, Grandfather and so on are mines. The main thing I want people to know is that your family is not only safe, but I know how to turn me off, when I am taking care of a client they are #1 priority as far as I know my personal life has never interfered with My job duties.

Hello, my name is Lauren and I've been working with the elderly for a little over ten years. Before that, I was in the medical field following my service in the U.S. Army. I'm currently a student, finishing my degree in Business Management and will be opening my own personal care home following graduation. I have a patient now that I've been with for two years since moving to TX from LA. A friend of mine, years ago, spoke to me about becoming a caregiver because of my customer service background. I went to a company, Home Instead, and went through many hours of training. Being able to help people is my main reason for becoming a caregiver. I'm a very patient person and I listen to my client's concerns. I am very proud of the work I've done so far. I give 100% to the person that I'm caring for and it makes me enjoy that I'm able to do so.

I am a very patient person. I come from a pretty chaotic family so I am used to dealing with all types of personalities. I adapt very well and I feel it's helped me become the empathetic and understanding person I am today. I hate seeing anyone in pain or upset and will do everything in my ability to soothe them and care for their every need. I know the pain of being down and out and that's why I attempt to make sure no one feels pitied or like they're not in control. I like to maintain healthy relationships and give my patients a sense of peace and control in ways that it is possible. Achievements that I am proud of ..very honestly ..are surviving my upbringing and breaking away from a toxic family and toxic situations. For getting away without turning bitter, and instead, using that part of my life to help me grow into the person I am today.. All of our pasts shape us. What makes me a great caregiver? I believe it is because I genuinely care about others, especially the elderly. My desire is to bring joy to others. My most memorable achievement in home care was the day I met Cheryl. Cheryl was an elderly woman who lived in my neighborhood, except she did not live in a house but a sidewalk. She had been on the street for years and it showed. I was able to befriend her and talk to her enough that she began to trust me. One day I found her lying on the sidewalk and not able to move- many tried to take her to the hospital but she would not go with them. I had earned her friendship so she let me take her to the emergency room. Although the cancer she had advanced to stage 4 she was given only had a few weeks to live. I was able to put her in touch with her children where she finally went home to, having died in their care being reunited after many long lost years apart. I got a card in the mail weeks later and and it simply said, ' you are my angel- thank you'

I'm a gardener and love fresh vegetables out of garden, and love my flowers. While growing up my mom always said take care of the elder and God will take care of me. I always helped the needed all my life, I really enjoy being with elder folks and comforting them plus I love their stories from the past .

I have been living at a Buddhist monastery for ten months and have trained in activities of daily living, mindfully! During this time I have been living around older women 60+ and have had no problem blending in. This points to an affinity I have for older folks and their unique phase of life. What you should know about me as a person: I'm quite open and warm, sensitive and responsible. Conversations about old age and death are quite normal and interesting to me. I've lived in four different household environments growing up so I'm quite adaptable figuring out new routines and relating to diverse personalities. Furthermore, I have had two grandparents with Alzheimer's and Dementia and have developed skills to engage with them. I have also worked in a Neuroscience lab studying the bio molecular components of Alzheimer's, so this disease is something I have tried to investigate from various angles.

I sincerely take great pride and joy in helping people. The elderly are very special and often are neglected sadly to say. I took care of my mom who had congestive heart failure a blood disorder until she passed. My sister was disabled due to severe depression which I helped her for many years . My husband acquired a rare cancer that required constant care and many surgeries and on time medication including narcotics that can be very dangerous if not handled properly. I enjoy getting a smile and often a laugh when possible. Everyone deserves kindness and dignity.
