I am a healthcare professional with 25+ years experience working in geriatric, memory care, dementia and Alzheimer's patients. I work in hospice care, palliative medicine, end of life care. I am a patient, compassionate, good listener, kind, caring caregiver. I do skilled nursing, wound care, first aid, post surgery care for transitioning patients to homecare. My start in healthcare was volunteering at the Red Cross, church and community outreach , I have worked eight years at the Washtenaw County DHS with CLS/CMH organizations as consumer advocate . I have worked long years managing assisted living facilities, nursing homes, directing memory care units, training, teaching and mentoring. I have earned Bachelor's of Science from EMU and Surgical Technology program from WCC. I am passionate about helping people to better their lives and improve their health.

I choose to be in this Field for many reasons, the Major one is because I have the heart and patients to take care of someone who is struggling. It makes me feel happy when I know there taken care of and still feel valuable to life. I love talking, I'll play cards or watch movies or go out and do activities with my patients. I'll treat them with care and love as if they were a family member of my own. Over the past 6 years I have gained a lot of knowledge working in the medical field so I do come with alot of experiences !

l 've been a caregiver since (1983) when I was trained and certifiied as s a direct care staff for the profoundly mentally handicap for 5 years, than transitioned over to caring for the elderly, recently I just loss a client of over 6yrs. who was 98 years old. I also cared for her daughter who preceeded her in death due to lung cancer. I have 30 years plus experience, if you're looking for someone who's going to give 100% of herself at all times, and whom offers an excellent attendance track record proven, I'm definitely your girl. I have been in the business of caring since 1998 both in Hospitals,private care facilities and in the home. Each location requires and demand a different approach but what never will not be compromised is that my case has priority, my companionship and the well being is always at the forefront. I have the ability to communicate with all levels of the medical community from patient transportation to the attending physician and nursing staff. I am CPR/First Aid Certified also with the latest automated on sight equipment. I feel that the person that I am caring for must and should remain a viable member of their community and should have as much professional and social interaction in that community that is reasonable contingent on their health and mental condition.

I have always had a passion for care giving.I enjoy caring for individuals.I,am frist aid &CPR trained certified,CNA,certifed Experienced in wound care,can operate a nebulizer machine,i enjoy being a caregiver for me it's not just a job ,it's another way to connect to people that can't do for them self.my personal achievement ,my neice was born 3 months premature,i worked with u of m Doctors & nurses to learn the best way to care for at home.
