Hello! I'm Amber! I'm 38 years young and have 2 boys my oldest is 16 and my youngest is my special guardian angel. My inspiration to be a caregiver was my family. At the age of 38 my dad had the Widow Maker heart attack. At that point, not knowing if my dad was going to survive is when I realized being in the medical field is where I was meant to be. After my dad got better, my grandma started showing signs of Alzheimer's and Dementia. A very short time later she passed. This was a very difficult time but it was also when being a caregiver made the most sense. In 2016 I attended Fox Valley Technical College and started CNA classes. Along with my CNA I also have all of my CBRF certifications and medication administration. As of January 2022 I'm back at FVTC to further my medical career studying for my Certified Medical Assistant and in the summer I'll be adding EMT-Basic as well! I am truly blessed to have my amazing fiance and my family as my support system and personal cheer squad! I love what I do and I look forward to the next chapter in the book of Me!

I have always been one of the youngest caregivers wherever I work, so I have always looked and treated any resident like they were my grandparent. I am a very caring person and friendly. I do quality work and I love to help others in any way that I can. I became a caregiver because I enjoyed spending time with other generations, other than my own, and understanding their perspective. I also became a caregiver because I love helping others in any way that I can. I got my CNA certification about 8 months ago and I have worked (and still am working) 2 jobs doing in home care. I am however looking for another job not working with a company and being a private caregiver.
