About me. My name isJeanette Lopez I'm 44- years old . I was born and NY raised in Puerto Rico . I would describe myself as outgoing , friendly, and talkative. I would also say that I have a sense of humor, and people generally enjoy my company. I believe in lifelong learning and personal growth. I developed an interest in caregiving at a very young age. During my teenage years. I I help my mother with my grandparents . I knew since then I loved helping caring for other. I always enjoyed playing and combing my dolls hair, feeding and play cooking for them. I always look after the house keeping home cleaned and organized. I have been a Certified Home Health Aide for 20 years . I like to look at my client as if I am caring for my own Loved one is what helps me become a better caregiver. What attracted me to become a caregiver is that I was looking after my grandma and I was the only one around and helping, while other family was out living life when there own mom needed them the most. So after she passed i looked into being a caregiver and have been doing my job every since. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is that they tell a lot of amazing story's, and you can pick up a lot of wisdom from them as well. I'm a patient person, I know to take care of elderly you need that. Even when I take care of an abusive person, I always try to understand the patient. I chose to become a caregiver after I took of my grandpa, I enjoy doing it even the patients are not my family. My experience comes from assisting my mother care for my father when he was diagnosed with multiple types of cancer. My next endeavor came years later when I became my mother's sole caregiver. She suffered from dementia. After her passing, I decided to make caregiving my new career. In my first position in my new career I was a Live In 24/7 Caregiver for a lovely lady with dementia, I was with her for 2 1/2 years until her passing.
