I took care of both of my parents. I love being around their wisdom. They think i'm funny and fun to be with. I would rather be around older people. Aways have since I was little. Guess it started in childhood since that's what we had living around us in our neighborhood.! And feel very blessed that its a calling too. I love talking and most of all listening to my clients. Hello! My name is Lori. I am a mother of 4 (almost grown) children, and a daughter of one elderly parent. I have been a Physical Therapist Asst. for 29 years. My mother suddenly passed in 2017. My father has severe dementia, and in her absence, there existed a need for someone to care for him. I fulfilled this role for some time, until the inevitable, appropriate time came for me to return to my family and life back here in Missouri. I personally experienced the process of seeking a suitable caregiver for my father, to help maintain the lifestyle that he had always known. I didn't think that it should be difficult to find this person (people). But, it was, especially in a small rural KS town, considering the financial resources available. I discovered a passion for in-home caregiving. I have been blessed to be able to continue caregiving since that time, and have worked with several wonderful families. I am reliable, competent and compassionate. It is my desire to continue caring for those in need.

Hello! I am graduating in December from Benedictine College and will be staying in Atchison until May, so I am looking around for a job during that time. I have been studying pre-physical therapy and have just been accepted into KU Med Physical Therapy program. I am CPR and First Aid certified and I have experience as a 24-hour caretaker. I love to cook, go on walks, and make DIY crafts. I am certified in Teaching Level One Yoga and I love helping with strength exercises and encouraging activity.

I am 18, and new to the CNA world! A few months ago I started as a caregiver for a company called A Helping Hands in home care, I met so many wonderful clients through A Helping Hands, that bonded really well with me, that it's only made me want to further my education in Health and medicine. I have always been interested in jobs that deal with the care of a persons lifestyle and I never hesitate when it comes to lending a hand to someone who needs it. I am very flexible with schedules and dealing with different clients, and I can easily adapt to new environments and the surroundings. I have experience in both home care and in a skilled nursing facility. My favorite part of my job on top of helping others is getting to know the resident I am caring for. As a caregiver you can spend more time with your client getting to know them better, which makes caring for them more of like a hobby than a job.
