My grandfather had a stroke when my Mom was pregnant with me. He was bedridden for 21 years. I grew up helping to care for him and it's became a part of who I am. Sometimes the smallest act of kindness can make someone's day. I strive to bring a smile to every face that I meet.

My name is Lindsay I've been a caregiver for over 2 years I've worked in many nursing homes and even hospitals. The love for caregiving has always been a passion of mine I love to make people smile and help where its a bit harder. I always make great food for my clients and I also do arts and crafts that I supply myself! My great grandma has many health conditions and I help here often. I also have a niece and nephew with autism who I do my own therapy with that helps them both tremendously. The thing I enjoy the most about what I do is the knowledge I obtain from my elderly clients and also making everything a bit easier leaving them with a smile and good company.

I am 31 years old I have been a caregiver for 10 years. Within those 10 years I cared for my own father so with that being said I care for others loved ones like I would my own. I know how hard it is to find someone to care for your loved one as if you would. I am loving , and caring. I believe in treating others how you would like to be treated.

I started my career in caregiving when I took care of my grandmother who had alzheimer's. When she passed away I always had this compassion for people with the same condition. Everytime I take care of them I feel like I am still taking care of my grandmother. That is why my patients treats me like im also a part of their family .

I am a great caregiver because I don't treat caring for patients as a job. My goal is make my families feel as if I'm one of them. I am very caring and passionate, as well as understanding. I build a personal bond that allows the family and their loved one to feel safe and secure in my care. I decided being a caregiver was my calling once my grandmother became ill with brain cancer and I was responsible for her during the days. Although she was my granny, caring for her allowed me to see life differently, love her even more, and build a bond way different from just that of being her granddaughter. I developed a passion for the responsibilities I had and want to help make more families feel satisfied and at ease knowing their loved ones are in good hands.

I am a very patient and understanding person. I take time to get to know the resident or patient. I try to understand their condition and needs on a personal level, in order to find the best approach. I am a very strong and hard working individual that has a very strong love for the nursing field. I enjoy it when I gain the respect and love of the resident/Patient. I'm am proud to say that my greatest achievements is that I have always been able to maintain a positive relationship with all of my residents . As a Nurse aide I provide direct patient care in nursing homes and in other settings such as hospital long-term care wards, community rehabilitation or private home settings. Duties can include taking vital signs, assisting residents to move about the home or facility, helping them manage their meals and use bathroom facilities, transferring, turning, lifting or positioning bedridden patients, offering emotional support, rehabilitative exercises, bathing, grooming, feeding, and all other aspects of care as allowed by state laws and regulations.
