What makes me a great caregiver is the opportunity to take care of some great people who need help and appreciate good help. I recently became a certified Death Doula, specializing in personal care for dying patients. A personal achievement I am most proud of is raising my three children with my husband of 37 years. I like to start the day with checking temp, blood pressure and oxygen level. All meals will be prepared and snacks given. Fluids is a very important part of the day. I like to keep track of fluid intake. I also have worked in a nursing home and as a dietary aide in the settling. So I cook good nutritional healthy meals. Sodium diets and diabetic diets. When I was the age of 16 starting taking care of a young disabled girl from church, from there I really loved working with people who need care and assistance. I then got a job working at Independent Options at 19yrs old taking care of special needs adults. I had been working in the same company for 20yrs. I started as a DCS then moved up to House Manager.
