I really enjoy helping people, and improving their quality of life. I've been working in healthcare since 1999, and feel I bring a wealth of experience to the job. I have a wonderful sense of humor (which I feel is a necessity) and I love to hear a client's story. I have had Systemic Lupus for several years, so I would prefer not to due a lot of heavy lifting. I would assess on a case by case basis.

I am very compassionate and empathetic. I have taken care of others for many years including family members suffering from dementia as well as other cognitive and physical disorders. I enjoy helping others obtain happiness and contentment while being able to live in a home setting. The best part of being a care giver is the personal reward. My proudest personal achievement is being a mom and nana.

I am energetic, have a huge heart. I'm always trying to find ways to help other people no matter the situation. I love hearing back stories on clients that's I have cared for, they always tell them perfectly! When my grandmother got sick in 2013 with stage 4 lung cancer I quit my job and took care of her until she went on hospice in her home, in 2014. I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life and that was to be a nurse one day! My biggest achievement is when I went to LPN school, although I withdrew in February of 2019 the knowledge and experience I gained is not forgotten. I was going into my second clinical rotation when I caught the flu and missed 23 clock hours! I had an hour left until next semester which was 3 months away! I had no choice to withdraw, but I will become a nurse, it's my passion!

Thank you for taking the time to consider me as a caregiver for your loved one. I have always aspired to help people since I was just a little girl. I started working as a certified nursing assistant and I did that for about 2 years. I wasn't to fond of how rushed the nursing home setting is so I left that line of work. I missed working with my residents so much and knew I just needed to do something more individualized. That way I knew I was giving each person the proper amount of care and socialization that every human being needs. Which is where I know that home health was my calling. I have a certificate in mental health which helps a lot of people when they are in need of a someone who can put them at ease. I have two littles of my own and I also have pets so those won't deter me from helping anyone.

Let me start by writing about what I know. No matter how much excellent medical and/or psychological care and loving support a person may receive, the person who is facing challenges inevitably feels fragile and experiences a crisis of confidence. Total care only begins at the bedside. The whole environment becomes part of the treatment plan, with a goal of encouraging the person remain engaged in the day to day decisions and activities that govern his or her life. The next thing I know is that, regardless of how smart I think I am, that person with challenges has his or her own agenda and will put every effort into achieving those goals. This deserves great respect. This requires negotiation. This requires a sense of humor. This requires open minds. This is what I know. And since every situation is different, there is no cookie cutter big enough to consider all the possibilities for care and support. Every case depends on intelligent decisions, patience, and cooperation. All laced with healthy doses of kindness.

I am a very patient person who loves to connect with new people. I take care of children during the week so I am used to doing certain tasks more than others. My step father is where my experience comes from, as he is a much older gentleman.

I became a caregiver to help others in their time of need and give the best care possible. I enjoy helping others and also being inspired to be my best in what I do in life and the career I chose. I have been chosen from numerous people to be the supervisor of the majority of my cases, which inspires me to give my all. I have a criminal justice degree, management experience, a NY CNA certificate (17 yrs), and I recently graduated from school for my LPN, I have not taking the state exam yet, but will very soon. I have all my immunizations, psychology courses completed along with a First Responder course completed. I have worked in a 120 bed nursing home, this med surge unit and have done home care, for a few people. I managed medicines, looking for side effects, lab values, range of motion, I have experience with dementia/ Alzheimer's, bipolar, depression, aggressiveness, hearing losses/aids, incontinence, wheelchairs, hoyer/stand lifts, ambulation, personal care, dressing, working with physicians and families on creating plans of action to ensure safety, emotional wellness, and physical needs are being entertained. I am available to help with laundry, cooking and driving to appointments. I have two vehicles that are insured and reliable. I am a honest, dependable and caring person who enjoys making someone day a great one!
