I became a certified nursing assistant in May of 2000. I have worked in many specialties in the healthcare field which consists of med-surg, telemetry,Icu,Brain and Injury, Rehab and Pacu. I also worked in Hospice, and home health for 15 years. I am currently working towards Nursing degree.

The reason I become a caregiver because I enjoy taking care of the elderly, sick, and handicapped. I enjoy making sure client are safe, healthy, and comfortable and will treat my clients and family members with respect. I started home health aide in 2000 and I have excellent letters of recommendation from clients and my past work history. I am dependable, honest, work well under pressure, I enjoy doing activities with my clients, and playing educational games. I have been during home health aide for over thirteen years and currently working with my current client. I am certified in American Heart Association, Licensed in under the DC Board of Nursing in Home Health Aide and also have a certificate in activities assistant. I have 30 years of experience in providing personal in-home care for disabled, cognitively impaired, chronically ill, and hospice patients. I assist patients with daily personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. I monitor patients' vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration. I am a thoughtful and considerate person who takes pride in providing the best care possible. I became a caregiver through the influence of my great aunt and grandmother as they were the neighborhood caregivers. I watched them as a child and knew I wanted to do the same thing. I began by taking care of my grandmother when she became home bound in her older age. For the past three years, I was the care taker for my mother after she suffered a stroke. The thing I enjoy the most is feeling a sense of joy and humility in assisting those in need in conducting their activities of daily living. They are so appreciative. I consider it a personal achievement when they recover and there is no further need of my services. That confirms that my work with them has improved their quality of life.

My best traits as a caregiver is being patience,compassion, attentive, dependable, reliable, flexible, trustworthy. I enjoy working with people and most enjoy jobs where you have one on one interaction with others. I also like doing work that has the potential to make a difference in someone's life. The thing I like the most being a caregiver is making someone smile and doing little things to make a person's day better. My personal achievement is being able to pursue interesting, high quality work that has a positive impact. Securing awards, promotions and other acknowledgements of achievement. I have been a caregiver 40 years. Always had a good repore with elderly growing up. Being there to help a loved one played a major roll in my job. I've worked in Assisted living facilities, Nursing homes and absolutely love it. I've used machinery like hoyer lifts, and other things. I'd prefer to stay away from that and heavy lifting. I also had my own assisted living years ago in upstate Ny.. I'm very experienced and I make it my buisness to be punctual and dependable. I take pride in my skills and I do my very best at all times. Looking primarily for day shift or overnight.

I've always been the compassionate person caring for other even when I was teenager. Come up watching my mother and grandmother as nurses and childcare provider it became natural to me. So when started high school I enroll in Nurseing program pass with excellent grades during I class hours we went to nursing home for hand on experience I then new this was what I liked doing. During summer break of school I work at local nursing home facility also had to attend monthly educational inservices were I learn the RESIDENTS RIGHTS,HIPPA, BIOHAZARD POLICY and INFECTION CONTROL .

I am a very empathetic, compassionate and patient person. I enjoy working with the disabled, sick, elderly, children and anyone that can use the right nourishment and care. I'm extremely proud of my self because I didn't think I could do this with a busy schedule and so much dedication, but it has come natural to me to devote so much time and love into caring and spending time with my clients. It fills my heart to give families that peace of mind knowing that their loved ones are in good hands professionally and emotionally. I really enjoy what I do.

It's heartwarming to know I get to share in the lives of the precious people that put their trust in me to care for them in their elder years.
