In 1995 I I became a CNA and worked in every area possible allowing me to acquire skills and knowledge to broaden my career. First and foremost-it is in my nature to help people in any possible way shape or form that I am able. I have a heart especially for those that are in greater need. I started caregiving for elderly and disabled in high school for family friends for several families . I later was a pharmacy technician for many years and worked as a care taker for several of my customers. I was chosen because I was reliable, patient and treated them like they were my family.

Caregiving has been my job for over five years now and I stayed on this kind of job because I love caring elderly persons. I treat my patients with extra loving care as if my own family member.

Hello my name is Helen and I just turned 29 in Nov. I have been doing in home care for almost 5 years (will be in Jan). I love my job and really get joy out of helping people every single day. I was recently working for a chiropractor part time and am also working on my Nutrition and Wellness Degree. Back in 2012 I graduated from UEI College as a Medical Assistant. I am familiar with many medications from dealing with many home care jobs over the years. I also have lots of experinced with taking blood pressure, checking blood sugar, giving insulin injections, along with a list we can discuss in person. When I was applying for different kind of jobs (manufacturing, warehouse) where I had more than 15 years experience, I was offer a position as caregiver of a lovely 90 years old lady, we got along since the first moment and became her part time cg. I found out that I have that special touch so much needed when working with elderly. I treat them with respect. I know it must not be easy losing your independence and if at home, seeing "strangers" coming into your house and practically take control over your stuf. That's why I like asking them (when posible) how they like things being done in their house.

I became a CNA at age 16 , I always wanted to peruse a career in healthcare , I love how rewarding caregiving is and how much I learn from my patients/ clients . I know how difficult it can be to transition into a new stage in life and I feel thankful to be able to care for others and make a difference in their life even in the smallest possible way .

I am a very compassionate person. I care for all clients as I would care for a family member. It is very important to me to make sure all clients have the dignity and respect they deserve. Caregiving has made me feel like I have a sense of purpose in this world and it makes me go home everyday feeling like I have accomplished something meaningful.
