I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 30 years. Part of that time I was a Medical Assistant. I became a caregiver originally to help family members, and found that I enjoyed it so much that I made it my career. I am most proud of the fact that I make lives better and increase the social life of my clients.

Some residents at the Assisted Living Community call me Christmas, saying it's close to Carol , my nickname. They said it fits my personality. Willing to give love (as the song goes... on Christmas Day!), happy, funny, full of joy! I have been taking care of my Father who suffered from stroke for 10 years back in the Philippines, being one of his caregivers. I was also his Physical Therapist. We moved here in the US 5 years ago, and I have worked as a caregiver , then transitioned to work in the Med Room as a Medication Technician at Maple Glen Assisted Living in Shelton, WA. I consider it a calling given the opportunity to work there. I am a people person and loves taking care of elderly. I treat them as family and I enjoy listening to their stories, and attending to their needs. Having a Physical Therapy background, and with experience in home health, clinical, and hospital settings, I could offer different types of assistance based on the needs. I consider my time at Maple Glen as one of my career achievements. I love all of the residents and I became The Employee of the Month in less than a year. Being a caregiver is a calling for me. I am proud to be one and I enjoy doing it! It is not an easy job but coming from a Filipino family surrounded by big hearted love ones, I carry it wherever I go, and I live up to the values my parents had taught me, which I am passing on to my daughter and son.

I'm a mother of two and a daughter. My mom lives with me. I'm a military spouse. I'm very compassionate, understanding and have big heart for elderly. I grew up with my grandparents since my father passed before I knew him. And my grandparents passed before I can give them the care they need. For that reason alone give me motivation to give the love for my grandparents that they never had from me to passed it on to other elderly people. I always treat them as my own grandparents. I have my CPR and BLS. I have food handling permit. I have my NAR and working to my CNA next month. Taking some of my pre-requisite to my Nursing degree.

I was a caregiver for 6 months after I separated from the navy. I worked with 3 very kind ladies in a house. One of the things that enjoyed the most was really feeling like I was continually improving the quality of their lives. There so much that needed to be done that the 12-hour shift just flew by. I take the time to learn clients' personalities and reciprocate what I believe they are looking for. I'm very big on clarification and communication. One of my clients had early onset dementia that was very advanced, one little to no speech, and one was completely wheelchair bound. Despite this these ladies were a pleasure to work with and I effortlessly treated them with the utmost respect & empathy. It was a pleasure to work with these ladies and I diffidently appreciated how excited they would get when I walked through the door. Looking to get back into a career path that allows me to be fulfilled as well as isn't continuous high stress.

I have a passion of helping others its make me fell great .I enjoy when I see my client big SMILE after care looking at me saying thank for all u have done for today.Iam proud of keeping my client at there home safe and comfortable.

I am an experienced caregiver that is compassionate about what I do. My client is always my first priority. I provide excellent care and provide dignity and respect. I'm empathetic and can usually anticipate my clients needs. The best part of my job is the relationship that is formed. A bond of trust.
