It is in my nature to be a caregiver. I worked in a nursing home at age 16 . Over the course of my life I have taken care of several elderly or ill family members or patients in nursing homes . I have experience with home hospice care as I took care of my mother and father in law who both had cancer and were home during hospice. I managed ordering medical equipment , medications and facilitated making schedules and medicine regiments. To present day, I have worked for the school district (38 years) I have worked with severely disabled , Autism , Down's Syndrom, Ms , and more. Familiar with Dementia and elderly . I am a 58 year old mother of Twins who turned 24 this April. Both children live out on their own and have made me a grandmother . My son works for Kaiser call center and my daughter works at Walmart . My husband and I were both born and raised here in San Diego and reside in Lakeside nearest to Santee. My husband works as a truck driver delivering dry wall. I work in Special Education at a middle school. I love people , children and animals. I also run a small cleaning business for private homes . I have many people who can provide references to my character and skills. I pride myself in being responsible , trust worthy , punctual and caring . I love helping others.

Hello my name is Valerie some things about me is I do love my job as a caregiver I've been doing it for a few years now . What I enjoy about this type of work is fainting that relationship with my clients, being able to develop that trust and understanding with them is my favorite part of the job.what attracted me to this type of job is my grandma developed dementia a few years ago so that was one reason . But I enjoy being in the medical field and helping people and being able to make my clients smile. Some of my personality traits that make me the great caretaker I am today is I've very empathetic and I like to treat my clients as family and make that extra step to make sure I learn how they like things done and what they enjoy doing.

I became a caregiver because: I enjoy working with people and being a companion to them making them happy and I don't like them to feel lonely and confused or hurt. I took care of my grandmother and my moms best friend and it was sad but I did my best and seen them happy till their last day. I am a detailed oriented, hard working, and a punctual worker. I have always wanted to help those who can no longer be on their own. I love to help with making their lives easier but to also give them the motivation to do things on their own. My greatest achievement I feel would have to be when I was caring for a man who was in Rehabilitation for a broken hip and by the time he no longer needed care I had him walking in a walker.
