i feel like a a great care taker because i love helping people i love to make people smile i know am a people person. Am a Mother of 4 and 2 of my kids are adults now so i only have to younger boys . So am starting to get board i want to get out the house and do something help someone be a friend i enjoy talking to people i definitely make friends everywhere so i like to help someone out i've been around caretaker my whole life my mother is a care taker and my grandma used to be i've volunteered and a few places as well as taking care of my ex mother n law when she was diagnosed with cancer so i have a lot of experience just asked me and i got story's ...

I have been a caregiver since 2009. I have a great passion for taking care of others and have spent most of my working career doing so. I have extensive experience in almost every area providing care for this population. I have worked with a variety of Alzheimer's and dementia clients as well as Parkinson's, MS, Diabetes, severe respiratory issues, Huntington's disease , cancer and those on hospice all which include many different special needs. I have a degree in Psychology from CSUS that I earned in 1983. If there's something new I'm not familiar with, I'm more than willing to learn. I love to cook and most likely can make almost anything up on request. I'm always willing to do house cleaning and laundry. I have been in the field. For more than 25 years, I have been very successful in providing care for individuals according to each clients needs. I pride myself on the fact that I got one particular client who wasn't willing to participate in any exercise and was wheelchair bound to not only participate, but eventually began walking. I am extremely proud to say I absolutely adore working with seniors, I've been doing it for a long time. I love being in the company of them. Everyone has a story. I like helping people and found working as a 'Home Care Aid' very fulfilling. Several years ago, my first client was a woman in hospice and I filled in so the family could get some rest. As I sat beside the lady, I looked around the room and saw pictures of her as a young woman on her wedding day, as a young mother and later as a grandmother. Her cook book was there with all kinds of personal notes etc. and just think I was so lucky to have been able to be there with her for that short time. Most of my clients I have been able to help with errands, transportation, meals, assisting with bathing and companionship. I value the time I have spent with the new friends I have made - short term and long term.

It's hard to talk about ourselves but I'll give it a try, I was introduced to caregiving by a family member since that day I went and got my self in school to get my cna certification later on I also received my dsp certification. This career is very rewarding for me, helping people and providing support to the people that needed the most is what I enjoy doing the most. I personally like watching movies, going on walks, and cooking.
