I have been a caretaker most of my adult life. I took care of my mother for several years while she was ill with Lupus and worked in several nursing homes, assisted living and independent living facilities. I understand the worry of having someone to assist and keep your love one company and ensuring that they are well "looked" after while you are away. I have been a certified nurse's assistant and activty director for both nursing homes and assisted living facilities and I understand the importance of keeping people activite and happy. Taking care of elderly or sick people is my passion. I cook very well, sew, do arts and crafts and can lead low to high elements of exercise. I know professional techniques to get my clients engaged or just make them laugh. I assist with bathing, light housekeeping and of course by this message you can tell I love to talk; and if your loved-one is a religious person, I don't mind reading scriptures or praying either. I enjoy being a caregiven and I genuinely care about my clients and their family. I just recently retired from Job Corps after working there 20+ years taking care of at risk youth in a residential setting. Home health to me is so much more than just a job. Its the ability to help people, lighten their families stress, new friendships, and to bring a little joy to them. I got started helping my G. Aunt, who was a home nurse, when I was younger with our own family ailments. My uncle an Gma both had a long fight with cancer; My father had multiple sclerosis; my mom a diabetic/work aholic with heart issues; and I also learned all about dementia an Alzheimer's first hand from caring for my G. Gma. Understanding what the patient is actually going through is essential, but Understanding the hardships the family goes through caring for a loved one is a important key in there loved ones care. Number one rule an my most important one is I always care for a client as if I were caring for my own family. I treat clients and patients as I wish to be treated, honesty, patience, and respect. After graduating high school I worked for hospice care for 2 years before taking a much needed break, (it hurt to much when it was there time to move on). Almost 6 years ago I went back to the same company but chose home health care instead . I worked with them 3 years as a special attendant. The rules became a headache to keep up with their contestant changing so I decided to go elsewhere. My current employer I have been with for almost 3 years. I am a hard worker and I learn fast. I have experience with most medical equipment including: hoyer lift -auto/manual, catheters/cholostomy bags, blood pressure cuffs/pulse ox/thermometers, oxygen machine and portable oxygen bottles, walkers and wheelchairs/electric scooters , bed alarms and hospital beds, etc. I do document visits with clients so families will be able to refer to book for any questions or concerns they may have about any shift, past or current.

I am an enthusiastic person with a great work ethic. I am very good at communicating and great at problem-solving . Above all I am honest. I have a kind heart and the patience to help anyone that is struggling. The reason i applied is because I was asked by a family member. to which, i said yes. I think this would be a perfect opportunity to help. When my father was sick, my siblings and I united to care for him. Now, my dad was lucky to have us but I know there are people out there that are alone. With that being said it just takes one kind person to provide help to a struggling individual.
