I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant/Caregiver for over 20 yrs. I am compassionate and understand the importance of meeting the needs of clients while helping them maintain a high quality of life. I truly enjoy the one on one and getting to know the person and building a trust with them. The smile on there face is priceless. To know there needs without verbal communication at times are being met. I enjoy taking on some of the responsibilities that families are not always able to take on due to there schedules. I assist with Activities of Daily Living and Intermental Activities Daily Living, Bathing, grooming , toileting, feeding,meal prep, Transportation to Dr, errands, and most importantly companionship is always the first. I became a caregiver because my aunt was suffering with ovarian cancer and she had no one to take care of her. She lived in Kern City by herself. I took care of her for the last three months of her life. It was very emotional but it was also very uplifting. I helped her move on and it was a very wonderful experience. The personal achievements I am proud of has to do with my background. At the age of 42 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had a double mastectomy, chemo and radiation. When a person lives through a diagnoses like this their outlook on life changes. I want to help people now. I want to make life easier on others if I can. Life is precious and tomorrow is not a promise. I've been married for almost 15 years to a high school PE teacher and basketball coach. I have 2 daughters and a son. They are all adults now and live on their own. I put down 24 years experience because I believe as a mother, you are always a caregiver from the moment your children are born. You are always on call, there is always a problem, and you never stop caring. My parents live in Kern City and I help them out as often as they need me. My mother just had a hip replaced so I also took care of her.

I am a young, energetic, and positive person who has had a passion of helping others and has been capable of taking care of individuals at a very young age. I have worked alongside my mother, who was a caregiver for 30 years, since the age of 13. I became a more empathetic person through working with her clients in geriatric and post surgery care. I learned the immense care and patience it takes to be a CNA and have found it to be a fulfilling occupation. I greatly enjoy taking care of and being a companion to others. I have always been naturally caring. It was in 2010 when I felt the calling. 2011 I went to school to get my CNA license. I took care of my daughter who was undergoing treatment at the time. In 2013 I officially used my license at a local rehab facility. It was hard to leave my patients at the rehab facility who I had became close to and loved. 2015 I started to work at Sierra View where I floated to multiple departments. During that time I gain a better knowledge of how to take care and treat my patients. I and now looking to help a family in need to take care of their love one.
