Caregiving has been a rewarding second career. After retiring from the banking industry, my sister who has been an RN for many years inspired me to follow down this path. I became a caregiver because of 2 main reasons. 1st is I believe that being a caregiver brings spiritual treasures that will not spoil or be taken away. As a hospice aid for 7 years I realized that we or our spirit belongs to a place where we will no longer suffer. 2nd I always pray for my time when my body also become old and fragile. When that time comes I will also like to be treated the same way I treated my client, with respect, compassion and care. The thing I like about caregiver is the joy that I get after the client passes away and hear from family and friends that I have done a good job. The personal achievement that I can say was from my last case with a couple in Los Altos where the husband died. I was live-in for five days and at the final days of the client I remained with him all night and called the children early in the morning to come and say their final respect to their Father. Ever since i was a child i watched my mother be a caregiver. I love the fact of being able to put a smile on someone's face and to have them know that I do care.

I taught for 25 years I enjoy helping others 5 years ago I had the privilege to work with high needs special Ed students that we're adult age that I took on as clients as they graduated I discovered it gave me even more enjoyment than teaching

some people think that it can be bad to get attacked to someone who you are caring for. I truly believe that if i don't bond with them then i am not doing my job correctly. They have to become my number one priority. I am bilingual, patient, and very understanding. I can carry big weights and provide safety, I can provide meal plan, errands, medical reminders, house cleaning, bathing, and providing many. I wanted to be caregiver because i want to be able to give the elderly attention and love as a way of gratitude for everything they had to do in life. I want to make there years the best and let them enjoy their life knowing that they can feel safe and protected with me. I love talking with people and i especially love hearing story as well as doing whatever it takes to make someone happy. I am very proud to say that i take this very serious and my number one priority.

I care about elderly people, i understand different personality types and I am easy to get along with. I care about their feelings and needs. I understand that besides the care needs they need to be provided with company someone they can trust, be heard, love and understood. I worked for a Volunteer Center for about 5 years, i worked with agencies as Alliance on Aging, I encourage recognition to elder people and program activities that can entertain and make them feel appreciated and that they have still a lot to live for. People and family needs to be aware that elders are not just to have them at home like an old furniture that they have yet much to offer, but more than anything that we have to appreciate their lives and legacy. they need love company, attention and care.
