I am a single parent of wonderful twin daughters that that just recently graduated from High School and I consider myself very lucky.

Hello my name is Brittany Nixon and I have been a caregiver for 4 years now and I love it, the reasoning behind that is you learn and experience new things and the clients and you have are adorable and if I can brighten up someone'sdatum by lending a helping hand that makes my day I've gotten into this profession by following my mother's footsteps but also what motivated me was seeing my grandfather go through pain and dealing with change of not being able to care for his self after he gotten sick that was my main motivation but I've always been a giving and caring person it's just my character. I am very Passionate caring person, ever since I was little girl. Instead of playing with neighborhood kids I would help my elderly neighbors. I loved sitting on their porch just talking for hours. They use to tell me & my mom that I had an old soul. My mom also was a caregiver then she got degrees in other medical fields, you could say I got and learned from her. I first got into home health care because of My father in law. I was 21 years old. He had MS, & his family denied caring for him. I noticed how bad he was getting so I started caring for him immediately. The care he needed acquired more time so me and my 3 babies (at the time) moved in and I cared for him around the clock. He had some pretty bad wounds that tunneled down to the bone on multiple parts of his body. Which is why I got certified at the osu wound clinic. Everyone around me and even the nurses that came over told me i had a special calling for this job. It was what I was meant to do! It takes a special person to really love & care for others. There are so many reasons why I love being a caregiver. It's more than the satisfaction that I am helping others. It's that they also teach me about life and what we take for granted. Without them saying a word. I feel so refreshed after a shift it doesn't feel like "just a job" to me. With Each & every client I get it seems like there is a story and I feel like I am apart of their story by getting to help them. I truly love what I do!
