I have been a caregiver for a little over 5 years, I love helping others with day to day life skills and needs I always knew I wanted to help people and once I finally started to I knew I never wanted it to end! Hello! My name is Andrea, you may also call me Andy (for short) I've been a CNA since 2008. What's helped me enjoy my career more than anything is my residents & families. I consider everyone I have got the pleasure of taking care of like extra grandparents and I couldn't thank their families enough for sharing them with me. I've been trained & also have worked with Alzheimer's, & dementia. My grandmother whom I took care of for a couple years also had this disease. I've been trained on hoyer lifts many times. Also I've been educated on puree foods, thicken liquids & mechanical soft. I have a family of 2 of which I absolutely adore. My 13 yr old son & 1 yr old little girl. They keep me busy when I'm not working our summers consist of baseball games, swimming & learning something new everyday.

I feel I'm a great caregiver because I care about all people and what u can do to make their lives more pleasant and easier. I became a caregiver because I took care of my mother for four years before she passed away and I feel I made a difference in her last days for the better and she was able to be in her own home for the remainder of her life which was very important to her and to our family.I really enjoy helping out and making a difference in peoples lives. I worked in a factory for 35 years and I never enjoyed it as much as I enjoy being a HOME HEALTH AIDE

My Mother was Ill from having cancer this is why i became a Caregiver........ I love being a Caregiver I am going on my 9th year as a Certified Home Health Aide. I LOVE My job and the satisfaction I get from Helping others achieve their goals...One Client I took care of had a stroke well when i took over giving this lady her care me and her decided to continue with her physical therapy ( Just rountine excerices and range & Motion on her left arm & leg ( which was partially paralyzed)..well after 2 months of continuous exercises SHE could use her left hand and actually grip the bar in the Shower! We were so proud to show her husband and Family what Her & I accomplished with a little love and compassion.... she became like My 2nd Momma and she told me i was her Angel girl so with that I love my job . for me I am Family oriented I have 4 living children 9 grandchildren (10th due in August) and 1 great grandson im dependable accurate and very compassionate and just simply love Life!

I became a caregiver because I wanted to do something different. I like to help others. A personal achievement for me is helping the four girls that I have worked with at the group home I'm at now. I first decided to become a caregiver after my mother got sick and I had to take care of her. I think it is important to help those who need it.
