I became a CNA in 1997 when my aunt was in a nursing home. I saw all the folks that needed love and care and thought I would give it a try. Well 2014 I am still a caregiver and can not imagine doing anything else. I have worked in Long Term Care, Home Health Agencies , Group Homes and private duty. My favorite being private duty with one on one care. I love helping people with their everyday needs and try to put some spice in their life by taking them out or offering fun activities in the home. I am willing to travel away from home, currently all my clients are in Centre County.

I'm a very easy person to get along with. Always on time and always make sure my clients are comfortable and needs taken care of asap. I enjoy being a care giver because I enjoy being thr person that can make someone else very comfortable and able to do for them what they can't do.

I have a great personality. I love being able to help and care for those who need it. It makes me proud to be able to be there for another person, to see them smile makes my job worth it. I am proud that I finally got my CPR license. Knowing that I can know be able to help someone who is choking or not breathing and hopefully bring them back or make them feel better would warm my heart.

I am a great caregiver because I listen and allow the person to talk about their needs, wants, desires and hopes. I became attracted to care giving after caring for my mother for over a year and understanding her as a caregiver herself, a women and friend. The most enjoyable part of care giving is providing the person with a since of autonomy. My personal achievement that I am most proud of is obtaining my Psychology degree in spite of all the challenges that impacted my everyday life.

I have experience working with Elderly and disabled individuals over the span of 8 years 5 of them I've done personal care and provided support for both elderly and disabled individuals. I've exercised an awareness for many ailments and challenges these individuals often face and hold the individuals I care for in high regard. I've also become the caretaker for my own elderly family members over the years. I respect seniors and have a passion for bring light, laughter, and ensuring their well being by not only meeting their needs but recognizing and understanding their strengths, and goals.
