Hi, my name is Leah. My passion as a caregiver started at a very young age, 15. I had a neighbor who was disabled and helping her with daily activities grew on me. I enjoy helping my elders and the disabled in anyway possible. I'm experienced nurse assisting duties such as, therapy with hip surgeries, medication dispersement, the use of diabetic instruments, oxygen machines, Iv machines, and wound care. Since I was a teenager, I've loved helping other people. I enjoy working with people of all ages and circumstances. What excites me most about this position is the opportunity to help those with disabilities live happier, healthier lives. I volunteered at my hometown assisted living center at 15 years old 3 days a week after school. I looked forward to seeing the smiles on their faces and knowing that someone cares. I think helping other people affects the local community positively, so I'd feel honored to accept such a vital role. I'm interested in being a caregiver because I'd like to increase the amount of care the elderly population receives. As I learned through my previous health care experience, this population often benefits from caregivers who provide companionship and who pay attention to detail. This can help improve the daily lives of this population. I'd love to be a part of that effort through this position and help improve the kind of care this group receives. My name is Deanna Richardson, and although I am only 20, I would like to consider myself as an experienced caregiver (although I know that there is much more to learn). I also consider myself as very hard working, reliable, trustworthy, and compassionate. Before getting my CNA certification in October of 2016, I cared for several family members in high school that had mental disorders, a stroke, and dementia. After receiving my CNA certification I went straight to work. I have worked home health, in a hospital, and hospice care. I am very passionate about caring for others; I truly believe that it is my "calling." I do not see being a CNA as a job, but as an opportunity to be there for someone during their time of need. As a CNA, I know that it is the little things that count. I enjoy being able to make my patients feel better whether it is from helping them get a bath or just being their for them through companionship.

I started in the medical field young, I grew up w/sickness in my family. Taking care of the sick became a passion, I LOVE it. Helping others feel better, walk, eat, dress, groom, is overjoying and gives me comfront knowing, I helped someone.

I started as a CNA when I turned 19 as a divorced single mom with a special needs child and no clue how to proceed.. I couldn't attend school work and tend to a high needs child so I worked and learned everything I could about epilepsy . And as a caregiver I became interested in dementia and Alzheimer's.. the Correlation between the diseases became a fascination for me which translates into the type of care that I provide for my clients. Between growing up in a family owned business where customer service was the TOP priority anticipating a clients basic needs came easily , then learning the specific and special que's and needs of the elderly was a easy cross over that I have loved ever since.. I hold a very dear spot in my heart and mind for so many wise ones, as I privately refer to them . I have gained more knowledge from my clients then I ever did behind a desk in school and I am both privileged and blessed to have been given this calling in my life.
