That is why I offer respite care. I was a CNA for 3 years and have been a respite provider/caregiver for nearly 4 years and I am now in my second semester of the Nursing program at VVC. I've been a caregiver for 35 yrs. I started in this field when I was just 17. I love what I do. I come from a medical family and decided at a very young age that I wanted to be a doctor or nurse. I specialize in geriatric dementia and Alzheimers care. Every client needs to know they're truly cared for on every level with love, patience, and kindness. Why did I become a caregiver? I became a caregiver because of my desire to help others especially the elderly. My passion and dedication for seniors is very important to me. Nothing brings me great pleasure in assisting people that are in need of some care. My greatest achievement in life are my children. I am a mother of four and a grandmother of six. Teaching my children to respect and help others gives me the satisfaction that when in some giving time I need help, they will assist me just like I assist and care for others in the same manner.
