What makes me a great caregiver is the opportunity to take care of some great people who need help and appreciate good help. I enjoy talking to people and listening to stories that so many elders have. I am very compassionate and do not frazzle easily. I have extensive experience with dementia patients. I recently became a certified Death Doula, specializing in personal care for dying patients. A personal achievement I am most proud of is raising my three children with my husband of 37 years. They (children) have grown to become great adults and that's all a parent can ask for.

I'm a registered nurse with 10 years experience. My background is critical care, post-operative care and prior charge nurse experience in orthopedics/telemetry. I'm a mom of 3 young children. I'm hardworking, organized, attentive to detail and compassionate about providing high quality care with each client I encounter. After years of being at the bedside and witnessing far too many elderly and disabled clients admitted with preventable health ailments- I've decided to transition my career to provide quality care and help my community prevent these cases from happening. I became a caregiver because I love to help people who can't either help themselves or needs assistance. Also because at the age of 14 I became my mother's caregiver along with my sister and grandmother until I was old enough to take care of my mother on my own for 9 years. What I like about being a caregiver is I know at the end of the day when I go home I have done my job and have made my resident and family happy. It does my heart good when the person and family I care for tell me "thank you". My personal achievement that I'm proud of is that I have learned a lot of different things about being a caregiver such as, womb care, medication, transferring just to name a few. I am a single mother of 2 boys 1 girl and I am going to pursue my nursing career. I also have experience in dementia and Alzheimer's care. My current job is working on the ICU unit of a hospital so i have gained a lot more experience in the medical field.
