Hello everyone my name is Darlene Billups,i have been a caregiver for over twenty years,i got my CNA license at Kennedy King College back in 1979.iI love helping people and making them happy,I also love to cook learn and talk to my clients so that they can get to know me as well as me knowing them.AM now going to school on line for my bachelor in Criminal Justice so that i can get my license for Mental Health.My most proudest moment was going back to school to further my education in the health field.

I have always had a passion for Caregiving. I enjoy helping others and find a sense of rewardment and pride in what I do. My biggest personal achivement has been my Registered Nursing degree. I am just taking time to study for my boards. I grew up taking care of my elderly family memebers and knew from a young age I always wanted to be in heath care.

I see those I care for as a whole person not Just their disease, disability or situation. During my hands on experience in Group Homes, One on One companionship, Private CNA Caregiver, Nursing Home and Nanny experience. I have acquired many skills and tools that have allowed me to care for others with dignity and grace. Despite their dementia, schizophrenia, autism, Asperger's, or mental illness. The Individuals I care for celebrate this person-centered care. I see and respect them as the most important person in my Now. A personal achievement I am proud of is my Patience, Love and Understanding. My ability to adapt quickly. I moved to Florida three summers ago from Minnesota. I have yet to get used to the Florida summers. However, I do enjoy and embrace the Flora, Foliage and Fauna. I see something new everyday. My new favorite Florida bird is the Painted Bunting. I love living Life on Life's Terms. What a Beautiful Gift.

I been c.n.a for 17yr and I love doing this kind of work. One thing I can say is dis is my career of choice. I love take care of ealdy people.the most thing I like about my job is the smile I put on my residents face. I'm proud of when I come into work and my residents are so excited to see me. I been c.n.a for 17yr and out them 17yr have not working with ealdy people. I also have my t.m.a license.

I became a caregiver in the beginning because I needed a job but quickly found that's really where my heart is. I wouldn't work in any other profession.
