Hi I am Eunice a 21 year old caregiver! Working as a caregiver has been a blessing and a eye opener. Working as a care giver I've gain a lot Empathy, my communication has gotta extremely better I'm more compassionate and time management is just a must for me. I love being a caregiver because of the connection & the relationships I build with my Residents and clients. I enjoy being a caregiver because of the way my Resident treat me sometimes they might not be aware of what they are doing but the good always outweighs the bad. A personal achievement that I am proud of is becoming certified so I can do more stuff with them !

I have a passion for caring and helping others out. I enjoy caring for others that once cared for us. I love hearing their stories, getting to know them, and meeting their families. To see a smile on your loved one's face, is how I know they are having a great quality of life. That is what I love doing with being a caregiver. Their happiness, is my happiness. I love what I do. My dedication, big heart & thorough work ethic has helped me exceed in my role as a Caregiver over the last 4 years I love being able to connect with the amazing souls I've had the opportunity to work with so far. I grew up going to work with my mom in the nursing home; playing games, telling/listening to stories & building bonds with the residents. Since then, I knew I wanted to continue on that path as an adult. I've been able to help people in so many more ways than my lil brain could've thought! Over the years I have supported my husband in his various church ministries. Supporting him and raising our 5 children did not allow me to have a paying job, but it has given me many opportunities to help people in all different situations. I have worked with many disabled and elderly folk. We cared for an elderly man in our home for a short time and I was with him at his death. I have helped in homes with cleaning, cooking, physical hygiene, shopping, laundry, and companionship as well as comforting the dying. I was involved with the care of my own father until his passing two years ago. My mother may soon need my care as well. Years ago, I was trained as a CNA; however, this was before the days of certification. I worked for a couple years in a nursing home and then later in a home for the developmentally disabled. It was very rewarding work, and I was able to use the experience over the years to help and encourage people in our own churches. My husband is currently unemployed, but I still have a desire to find work that would allow me to help people in personal ways. At present I am on a waiting list to take the training to become a certified nursing assistant. I am pleasant, patient, compassionate, empathetic, hard working and honest. I have great respect for the wisdom and experience of the elderly. I try to help them have as much independence and dignity as possible. I enjoy cooking, crafting, sewing and 14 grandchildren!

I became a caregiver because I l like nothing more than to help anyone and everyone out in anyway, shape, or form. To make a person smile and be happy is the greatest feeling to me, knowing that I made someones day/night helps me to sleep good with a smile on my face as well. I use to be so scared to even step one into a nursing home that was up until I got my first job at 17 being a dietary aid in the kitchen at a nursing home, and now I wouldn't change my career for anything. I can actually say that I am really good with families and getting along with anyone and everyone. The families that are involved in their loved ones life is also a big part of this type of career so making the family happy as well is very important to me. I have been in the healthcare field of work the 8 years I have worked and mainly just worked in the nursing home environment but I have also worked as a Direct Support Professional for an in home care facility. I would not go back and change my job and or wouldn't change the type of work I do for anything. Happiness is home made and care comes from the heart.

the reason i became a care giver is because i have a strong passion for people and love helping when i can.i love the fact that i can help someone and make there day and just the thought of helping them.The achievement that im proud of is that in 2014 i was named best employee of the year and have always been requested by many clients that i have worked for including going to live in florida with one of my clients. Something about myself is that im a hard worker always able to call on me at any time day or night use to work 90 hour work weeks dedicated to my job on or off duty. easy to get along with,very trustworthy, great leadership and great people skills.
