I have been a Nurses Aide for over 27 yrs.I have up to date CPR,First Aide,and am Med.Certified and have recently had my fingerprints and background check updated as the Board of DD required.I am reliable and responsible.I also have references from past clients family's.I have a dependable vehicle and carry full coverage insurance.

I became a caregiver at the age of 18 simply because I needed a job and it was available to me.That was 20 years ago. Since my first client I fell in love with the job. I love being able to help people stay in the comfort of their own homes whether it be a temporary illness or end-of-life care. The pride I get from helping the families I have worked with throughout the years warms my heart. Many clients start to feel like family. It is a emotional heartbreaking experience sometimes watching someone take their last breath, but It is an honor being there to hold someones hand during this experience.

I always go above & beyond to make sure my patient is treated with respect & dignity & I go the extra mile to meet all there individual needs.I knew at 7 years old that I wanted to become a Nurses Aide when I started volunteering at the Nursing Home with My Grandma that was a Nurses Aide. I became a caregiver in 2001 because I like to take care of people. When I moved back to Ohio with my daughter. We moved in with my grandmother. This is where I got my start in home care. I remember how my grandmother went from a very active person to someone who needed help with everything. I loved taking care of her and helping her be the person she used to be. It is what I was born to do. I hate to see people in pain of any kind. I believe there is worse pain in the pain of going from a independent person to a dependent person. I like to help people lead full happy lives no matter how long or short they have. Everyone deserves to live their life with dignity and respect. I look at everyone I have taken care of as family. They are my grandmother or my grandfather and I treat them just like I would have treated my family. I don't want anyone to feel like they are a burden on their family. I want to help them feel like they are a vital part of the family. I went and finally took the STNA classes last year (2013) but I have been doing everything I learned in that class long before I took the class.

I love that I have the ablitaly to help someone else's family members in need , my mom had done aide work for years an she would tell me all the good stories about her residents an I always said I'm going to be just like you an help those who needs help because one day I will need it! I love the bond you build hwith you patients from knowing what they loved to do , to there favorite foods color, it's just a wonderful exsperinse to have.

I became a caregiver because that's who I am. I love being able to help people do things they can't or have a hard time doing. I'm very compassionate and caring. I treat everyone as if they are a member of my family. When I walk into a room and see a smile because they are happy to see me, I know I'm making a difference, even just for that moment. I am very passionate about the care I give my patients, it is a direct reflection of me. I know I am a great person so I know I will give great care. My biggest accomplishment I would have to say is forming the bonds I have with my patients. We laugh and joke around together and they know if they need me for anything I will be there!

I have been told that I am a great listener, compassionate, and understanding. In addition, others have given me exceptional feedback on how well I can multi-task, organize and maintain a friendly attitude while doing so. I have worked mostly with children in the past, as a nanny, caregiver, as well raising 4 children. However, I have many elderly friends and very much enjoy their wisdom and company along with the pleasure to be able to assist them with whatever they may need. This has led me to thinking it would be a great job for me to have! Who doesn't appreciate a job they can enjoy? My favorite thing about caring for others is the contentment and relief they receive from my company and/or assistance. I also simply adore being around people, I am an extrovert and by nature I am a helper. I am most proud of my children. I have 2 beautiful, wonderful boys who have been nothing but a Blessing to me! I am incredibly fond of my circle of friends who have been such a treat in my life as well!
