My name is Katy! A little about me I took care of my father when he was alive he was bed ridden due to amputation, diabetes and kidney disease. I have experience in Alzheimer's and Dementia care,Home health care as well as Assisted living care . Experience in transferring and Diabetic care. I was also a housekeeper for many years and a personal assistant. I am able to multitask very well. I really love giving time to talk with my patients/clients to make them feel great! They just need someone to talk to. Great companion ship is key! I love working with the elderly and listening to the stories they have from back in the day. I always try to do my best and give great care to all my patients. I am COVID and Flu vaccinated.

My personality traits that I'm naturally a caring person and have compassion for others. I love to help others. I have the ability to bring my best qualities into my work environment and use them alongside the skills I have gained training in nurse assistant and medical assistant education. What attract me in been a caregiver is my mother who is a retired nurse for over 20 yrs and my grandmother who always helping people in need at her age of 91 she still does her part in the community. In 2010 my grandfather pass away of myeloma I was his caregiver. All this and more attracted me to become a caregiver. I enjoy most about been a caregiver is an opportunity to show love, respect, and dignity to those in need. It is a deeply fulfilling experience that allows me to learn more about myself and grow as an individual. Caring for someone is a powerful and intimate relationship that can bring about a strong connection and bond. When caring for someone, it is important to show love, trust, and understanding. One of my personal achievement that I proud of is becoming an advocate of others who is need.

As a Certified Nurse Aide of 30 plus years, I always give 101% of my service in caring for my clients. I am passionate of my work and love my job. As a young girl growing up I always felt strong about studying in the nursing field to advance in my career. I'm flexible, reliable, along with punctual. Nonetheless, I have capabilities to perform required duties such as walking, exercise, shopping, and transportation to health providers. Throughout my career choice as a caregiver, I have grown and become more compassionate and I love my profession.

I decided to become a home health provider because my father suffered a gunshot wound which left him paralyzed. I was only 8 I would see the home health providers come to my house and help take care of my dad and do things for him that he no longer could do and I was very grateful for that at the same time I seen the tremendous help that it also provided for my mother considering she was a mother of 9 children. So I knew that I wanted to help others who there needs even if it was something as simple as cleaning for them and knowing that it also takes off alot of strain on the family members. So if I could bring a little relief to someone and their families even for just a few hours that's rewarding to me and that's the best part of being a provider

I am a energetic, reliable, compassionate, respectful person and I believe that these traits help me to be a wonderful caregiver. I am very passionate about what I do and love the satisfaction I get from servicing people. I was attracted to this job because it's very similar to what I wanted to go to school for; which was nursing. I later changed my major to speech language pathology and I love it! I enjoy keeping my clients company, assisting them in anything they need assistance with. One of the personal achievements is gaining knowledge about this field, since 2013 I have been able to learn so much and work with different companies as well.

I consider myself blessed to have a connection with the elderly. When I was a 14 yrs old had the most amazing bond with the 93 year old mother of our church and I will never forget her. I personally feel responsible for the helpless ; I didn't know I needed a reason why. However, I have realized it's not for everyone. I take pride in the connection and the ability to bond with a person in need of understanding and compassion. I now consider it a gift and I am humbly grateful.

I've been a certified caregiver since 2013. I decided to pursue a career in this field due to the fact that I cared for my grandfather. I'm passionate about what I do. I not only care for a person I become a companion. I try to make them as comfortable as possible with whatever it is they're battling. I thoroughly enjoy making them feel and look good. For many years I've lived away from my father, but the moment I received a phone call that he had a stroke I dropped everything and went to care for him until he recovered. That alone shows how caring and concern I am about people who are unable to care for themselves. What I like about being a caregiver is the fact that I am able to bring a smile on the faces of my clients no matter what moods they are in for that particular day. I go to an extended mile to make sure that their needs are met and that they are taken good care of and happy. One personal achievement I am proud of is being able to graduate college. Both my parents are illiterate and for me to be the first out of four siblings to go to college and graduate was a very good accomplishment for me. And with what I have learned and experience I will continue to strive in what I love the most; that is helping people.
