In 1995 I I became a CNA and worked in every area possible allowing me to acquire skills and knowledge to broaden my career. Hello my name is Helen and I just turned 29 in Nov. I have been doing in home care for almost 5 years (will be in Jan). I love my job and really get joy out of helping people every single day. I was recently working for a chiropractor part time and am also working on my Nutrition and Wellness Degree. Back in 2012 I graduated from UEI College as a Medical Assistant. I am familiar with many medications from dealing with many home care jobs over the years. Caregiving is my passion it all started when I was a kid all in just wanting to fix my grandfather who had dementia and PTS . I looked after him until I finished school . As so my mom took over and I went to Cali to take on my dream full time .. I have worked with asl patients , Quadriplegic , dementia, Alzheimer's, mental health as well as kids . I started off with independent care and later moving on to facilities as well as obtaining my med tech . Later on had to go back to take care of my grandfather and mom who recently passed away now I take care of my mom and moved her out to live with me in Escondido . Hello! I'm currently a CNA and EMT. The main reason I became a caregiver is because I want to make a difference in someone's life. I also just enjoy working with people and taking care of and assisting those who may have difficulty with certain activities. I have worked in both a facility and home setting, but I enjoy the home setting because I am able to be one on one with my patient to make deeper connections. I pay attention to detail and I'm very patient, I understand that sometimes there may be changes in plans and that things may not always go as planned, but I can adjust to any situation and make decisions that are best for my patient. A personal achievement that I am proud of is that I was able to become certified as a nursing assistant and as a home health aid, while working part time and going to school full time.
