Hello! I'm currently a CNA and EMT. The main reason I became a caregiver is because I want to make a difference in someone's life. I also just enjoy working with people and taking care of and assisting those who may have difficulty with certain activities. I have worked in both a facility and home setting, but I enjoy the home setting because I am able to be one on one with my patient to make deeper connections. I pay attention to detail and I'm very patient, I understand that sometimes there may be changes in plans and that things may not always go as planned, but I can adjust to any situation and make decisions that are best for my patient. I cared for my "nana" for 12 years. She suffered from verbal dysplaxia, had several strokes, mild dementia and had three minor heart attacks. She also suffered from a broken hip, and was a constant fall risk. I was able to always know and feel what was needed by her, and performed whatever was necessary to make sure she was comfortable and felt loved.
