I am a mature woman with over 25 years caring for people of all ages and walks of life. I have bachelor degrees in Family Life and Human Development and in Nursing. I was a registered nurse for 25 years. I have extensive experience in home care, and especially enjoy home care because it gives me a chance to work in an environment in which people are the most comfortable. I enjoy becoming a part of each client's life and in meeting family members and friends. I have found I have a knack for building rapport with clients. I believe in treating each client in a holistic manner, and in communicating with him/her as a person, not as the condition for which he/she is receiving services. I was drawn to this field when I was younger, I would take care my father after his stroke and also my adopted grandparents on there death beds when I was in school still. I feel suited to this field because I am very caring, passionate, loving, understanding, kind, fast learner, and patient. I enjoy being a caregiver the most because when the client has made a acheviement and thwy are so pleased and happy, that's what motivates me more is seeing there happiness and them achieving, but also the stories they will tell of things that they have done is so pleasing to hear. When a client has made a achieved then I have met one my goals for that client. But if I can get a client to smile and have a great day then I have made my goal for that day.
