Hey my name is Sheila Coates I am a cna I have been in nursing for about 30 years.. I enjoy working with the sick and elderly I like to cook and clean for them and make them feel comfortable in their own homes this is my heart desire is to be a help to the sick in need ... I went into nursing when I was young I started out in housekeeping when I was 16 I started working on the floor when I was 17 Bathing Changing their clothes, changing, diapers brushing the teeth feeding Exercising with them taking walks outside Just taking care of all of their daily needs working in a facility that I was at for about 20 years and I've also sit in homes for about eight years. I went into nursing because I have five kids of my own. They are grown now, but I've always said if anything would happen to them I wanted to be the one to take care of them, because I worked in facilities and I know and saying they care that some get and I said if I can help it, my children would never go have the same attitude when it comes to me if anything would happen to me I never wanna stay in a facility I wanna get taken care of in my home or either in their home . what I do I have a heart and a passion for taking care of the elderly and sick. I enjoy the conversations of their childhood and growing up. I love cooking and cleaning because if you get care in your home, your household needs to be cleaned and you need a home-cooked meal if you have a dog or a cat, I don't mind taking care of them too ...

I have a passion for helping others. I most like being able to assist my residents/patients on improving their daily activities to where they are able to assist themselves more. Small steps add up to be the bigger outcome and the joy of seeing them succeed is wonderful. My personal achievement is paying close attention to not only the small details but the the bigger ones as well. This allows me to catch certain situations before a worse outcome appears. Example, bed sores, wound care, range of motion, stroke ext I'm dependable, passionate about my work and I always go that extra mile to help my residents / patients succeed on a daily basis. I am currently on the safety committee at my full time job to ensure not only my employees stay safe, but my residents / patients and visitors

I became a caregiver because I like helping people and want to know I am making a difference in my field of work. I particularly enjoy the senior population. It is very rewarding to know I made an impact on someone's day at the end of each work day. I receive personal satisfaction to know that I have helped someone who may not be able to fully help themselves. What a joy! I am proud of the fact that I can do whatever I put my mind to do. I have done many things throughout my life: received my Bachelor's degree in Accounting and worked as an auditor and received my license as a massage therapist and was self-employed for most of the years I was in practice. I also have been a fitness instructor and have completed certifications in that field. In my 20's and 30's I was a nanny and thoroughly enjoyed the children. Of all the things I have done in my life, I prefer those occupations that are helping those in need. I have found that to be true throughout the different career paths I have taken. In my leisure time, I enjoy walking and playing with my dog, which is a fairly new "hobby" for me. Now I know and understand those that say their pet is a member of the family. She brings joy to my life! I have always been health and fitness minded. I aim to take care of myself and do things to promote my well-being and state of health. I also enjoy my time in women's Bible studies, to share and grow with other women of faith.

Most important thing about being a caregiver it's being a companion and being there for someone mentally when they are going through a sickness or they're disabled to keep them upbeat and to keep them going everyday I have a laid back personality and I love to make people laugh and make them feel comfortable and know that they are important and that they're cared about
