Hey my name is Sheila Coates I am a cna I have been in nursing for about 30 years.. I enjoy working with the sick and elderly I like to cook and clean for them and make them feel comfortable in their own homes this is my heart desire is to be a help to the sick in need ... I went into nursing when I was young I started out in housekeeping when I was 16 I started working on the floor when I was 17 Bathing Changing their clothes, changing, diapers brushing the teeth feeding Exercising with them taking walks outside Just taking care of all of their daily needs working in a facility that I was at for about 20 years and I've also sit in homes for about eight years. I went into nursing because I have five kids of my own. They are grown now, but I've always said if anything would happen to them I wanted to be the one to take care of them, because I worked in facilities and I know and saying they care that some get and I said if I can help it, my children would never go have the same attitude when it comes to me if anything would happen to me I never wanna stay in a facility I wanna get taken care of in my home or either in their home . what I do I have a heart and a passion for taking care of the elderly and sick. I enjoy the conversations of their childhood and growing up. I love cooking and cleaning because if you get care in your home, your household needs to be cleaned and you need a home-cooked meal if you have a dog or a cat, I don't mind taking care of them too ...

I have a passion for helping others. I most like being able to assist my residents/patients on improving their daily activities to where they are able to assist themselves more. Small steps add up to be the bigger outcome and the joy of seeing them succeed is wonderful. My personal achievement is paying close attention to not only the small details but the the bigger ones as well. This allows me to catch certain situations before a worse outcome appears. Example, bed sores, wound care, range of motion, stroke ext I'm dependable, passionate about my work and I always go that extra mile to help my residents / patients succeed on a daily basis. I am currently on the safety committee at my full time job to ensure not only my employees stay safe, but my residents / patients and visitors

I am an LPN I enjoy helping others I am most proud of being a mother of 2 successful individuals I received my nursing license in the summer of 2000, I have worked in schools, hospitals and Skilled nursing, rehab floors. Things I enjoy on my free time are gardening, hiking and biking.

Some of my traits that are defined as being useful are that I am open-minded, caring, driven, understanding, and available to meet all needs of those that need personal one-on-one care. A few things that attracted me to become a caregiver are the smiles that I am able to put upon their faces, gaining the wisdom of the senior community about the choices I make in life, and knowing that I am able to help them stay out of nursing facilities and receive the care they deserve while continuing to reside within their own homes. The one thing I enjoy the most is being able to care for them and provide them an opportunity for a better life. The one personal achievement that I am most proud of is that none of my clients have ever had a fall on my watch. I have been able to keep them protected and away from the harm that falls could cause to them mentally and physically.

I've been a caregiver most of my life. I adopted 4 children in my 40's. I cared for two women in the past few years, one passed yesterday. I do light housework, excellent cook. I can drive to appointments, groceries and just fun shopping. I cared for my mother, my children's grandfather whom I didn't even know, moving him from Tennessee to Virginia.

I am the caregiver who is just like family. My own middle sister is disabled and can attest I have spent a lifetime assisting and helping her maintain her own sense of independance and quality of life.
